According to South Carolina news media reports, Mr. Philip was arrested in 2013 for killing his 26-year-old girlfriend and her 8-year-old daughter. He pleaded guilty in 2015 in exchange for life without parole, The State newspaper in Columbia reported, citing court records.

Mr. Simmons pleaded guilty in 2010 to the killing of a 45-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son in 2007, according to The Post and Courier in Charleston. He received two life sentences.

And these two pieces of human fecal matter were still breathing at the time because why? Move them in with a vocal death penalty opponent to let them see what monsters these two men actually are.

Death penalty would have deterred the men from murdering again.

Death penalty definitely saves lives. The do-gooders who don’t want “innocent people” killed never understand that.

I guess they can give them 4 more life sentences.

Look on the bright side, they saved the state of South Carolina about $120,000 a year.

just goes to show you that these animals will continue to murder because they know there is nothing more the law can do to them...there is no deterrent...

>Death penalty would have deterred the men from murdering again.

It would be a prevention for sure. Trying to think like a life inmate, my death would be welcomed by me. Especially
when the state makes it painless.

As for deterrents, while forcing the inmate to remain alive,
much harsher would be things like solitary, food, and withholding many other things that make incarcerated life bearable.

Torture may not be a good thing to deliver, but with those that enjoy harming others, it is likely a deterrent. Death is a solution.

Something does not add up. Two guys get four guys into a 10 x 10 cell and strangles them all. One appears large but the other looks average build. So unless these were 120 lb weaklings not sure two could strangle four.

That symbol on the upper corner of the SC flag is a gorget. Perhaps these prisoners could have used a few.

Jeffrey Dahmer was killed by an inmate already serving a life sentence. So was Albert DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler. Sometimes the inmates dispense their own justice, encouraged by the guards.

How long do I have to wait for the New York Times to come out for the death penalty?

And why were the guilty pleas accepted instead of a trial with the death penalty? Who screwed the pooch on this one?

Death penalty would have deterred the men from murdering again.

But then there would've been nobody to kill in the first place, when you think about it.
