So the State spent time and money to try and convict this turd and manage to give him 9 life sentences EVEN though he had already been sentenced to DEATH in Federal Court.

Too bad we can’t shoot him 9 times, or more.

The man is a disgrace to South Carolina. I took basic at Fort Jack. Columbia is a nice town, South Carolina a beautiful place, peopled by gracious and pleasant people. With certain exceptions. I loved Charleston, my wife’s cousin lives in Mt. Pleasant.

Room him with the biggest, baddest black guys in the prison. And don’t watch.

I don’t get this. He should have gotten the death penalty from the STATE murder charges. Why was this ever tried in FEDERAL court?

One doubts that Ol’ Sparky is still in use, but it might somehow be justified for this truly dreadful and alleged person.

Probably because it qualified as a hate crime under federal statute, I would guess.

He is a murderer. He deserves the death sentence.

I hope he honest-to-God repents. I hope God will have mercy on his soul.

But can somebody explain the double jeopardy part? Why did he have to be charged and tried twice: once state, once federal? I thought that was unconstitutional?

“So the State spent time and money to try and convict this turd and manage to give him 9 life sentences EVEN though he had already been sentenced to DEATH in Federal Court.”

It’s a good move by the state.

He has to answer to his state crimes and if for some reason if the federal case should be overturned or commuted, the state has him locked up for life.

Interesting. Well, that’s good because the jihadists can strike anywhere.

I was talking to a sheriff’s deputy outside church one night but it was about 6 months ago that I went to that particular church (it’s almost in the inner city so they always have off-duty police and sheriff deputies on station).

I can remember a couple of the places - he listed about five in my state.

Good for you, though.

I seem to remember a production of The Count of Monte Cristo in which one of the “Count’s” long-pursued victims, once ruined and arrested, was left locked in a police wagon with a pistol loaded with one bullet. He didn’t get out.

Knell him down and place a bullet through the skull.

Enough of the millions spent on pointless legal cases and bureaucracy. I and many others would happily volunteer to do this.

If Keith Richards was given nine life sentences, he’d make parole
