(CNN) Two police officers in Georgia were fired Thursday, less than 24 hours after cell phone videos surfaced of them punching and kicking a motorist in handcuffs.
No charges have been filed, but the Gwinnett County Police Department said it's moving forward with a criminal investigation into the incident in the suburban Atlanta county.

Being fired is just a slap on the wrist. These thugs masquerading as law enforcement officers should be put behind bars for about 10 years.
they don’t care about getting fired.
they have FINE career prospects now with United Air Lines
Cell phones have taken all the fun out of police work, apparently.
I’m sure the security team at that United Airlines terminal will hire them in a second!
Oh, wait...
For punching or kicking a guy?
I’d be doing 200 years from my late teens and early 20s if punching someone in the face once got you 10 years.
They should be fired and get hit with charges.
But they didn’t shoot the guy dead.
Ain’t the first time. Some Georgia cops are ridiculous
Yeah, but you did not do it to someone in handcuffs while in uniform as a “peace officer”.
Punching folks when they are on the ground handcuffed doesn’t seem like a good career move
The kid is fortunate that he didn't end up with a fractured skull—or worse.
There needs to be a massive movement by Americans of all colors to introduce accountability for the use of excessive force by law enforcement.
I know for a fact that these sorts of things happen to White "suspects" as well. Here in South Florida there has been more than one case of somebody getting arrested for a minor offense, only to end up dead an hour later.
Anyone who is a supporter of law enforcement should be infuriated by such incidents, because it gives the good officers a bad name...
yes
And that’s why anymore the dirty cops fear cell phones far more than they fear guns.
Good points.
Come on man, let’s all be honest here for a minute. Who do the police get?
In my neighborhood the got the craziest Italian and Irish kids I knew. Not the brightest bulbs in some cases and quick to use their hands. Lower middle class kids who grew up fighting.
Very hard to find a physically strong/mentally stable/mentally mature/intelligent and reasonable 21 year old, no less a small army of them.
Though at least one of these guys was much older, I’m sure he was the same way when he started.
The same things that makes young men the target of the military are the same things that lead to trouble picking police.
It’s wrong. But I don’t know the answer.
ANY government official that abuses their authority should get MANDATORY MINIMUM 10 years jail - from Lois Lerner, down to street cops.
And put them in General Population.
Good. Bad cops should be very costly.
Having lived in Gwinnett county for 30 years I can tell you I have met a lot of really good guys on their police force. There are always a few bad apples.
Out here in the country the cops mostly deal with intoxicated rednecks. One of the neighbors got busted twice for DWI in the same day!
I didn’t watch the video — but I’m surprised that FR seems to be just another chapter of the anti-police Black Lives Matter.
Wouldn’t you want to know the full story here (is that what CNN is know for?). They probably over-reacted, but wouldn’t you want to know if there is at least partial justification?
That's why I opted to study the Art of Pungent Lotus Tai Kwan Fujitsu.
I am now undisputed Master of the Shaodojo Five Finger One-Armed Eight Pole Death Touch.
I try to do it gently so they don't die too much all at once.
