Harvey Weinstein knows he can be temperamental, and he knows he's not above a good publicity stunt, but he said Thursday his complaints over an R rating for his company's upcoming trans teen family story "3 Generations" are worth the effort on behalf of prospective young trans viewers.

Starring Elle Fanning as a girl who wants to transition, the Motion Picture Association of America assigned the restrictive R based on strong language, including some sexual references. The film, which opens with a limited release in Los Angeles and New York on May 5, also stars Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon.

Attempted mainstreaming it don't make it right. Did har-veee get any input on the subject from malaria? Not to mention with such "stars" as susan saranwrap, how long before it goes "straight" to dvd?

If there’s a part where the heroine (now hero) goes to a Berkeley riot with “the other guys” and gets punched in the face, I’ll buy a ticket.

LOL! I think we already saw the preview to that one. Heard she’s doing a gofundme to pay for hospital costs. Didn’t know there was a cure for dumbassedness.

Once upon a time the movie ratings were designed to protect the innocence of youth from mature concepts and themes. But then, it was never the interest of the homosexual community to protect the youth, was it.

If Susan Sarandon gets punched, I’ll buy two.

He could have toned the bad language down.

If he tones down the language, he’d lose revenue. Guess we’re old school and find the gratuitous language and sex scenes a little much these days. Well, a lot much. And we’re not prudes by any means.

” are worth the effort on behalf of prospective young trans viewers.

young “trans” viewers have for more important mental health issues to deal with then worrying about seeing your movie!

With any luck Harvey Weinstein’s final film will feature him kneeling in an orange jumpsuit.

That makes no sense. Who says, "I won't go see a movie unless everyone says **** all the time!"?

But I guess he's in a bind: with the R rating, fewer people will see it who don't already buy the whole trans-shtick.

I’d give it a “C” rating, as in “Crap”. Or maybe a “PC” rating, for “Politically Correct”.

Personally, the rating is AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Great choice for an opening date, on the same day that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ opens. I thought that Weinstein was supposed to be some sort of film genius.

A movie about a “trans” teen and the family reaction to same???

There are certain movies I simply have no interest in ever seeing.

One such would be a Broke back Mountain type movie about a homosexual love affair. Another would be a movie in which a chain saw murderer is featured. Another would be the monster movies with a Godzilla type monster threatening the world.

Another is a movie about the transition of a teen who feels like a girl trapped in a boys body.

I know the liberal view is that we are all bigots if we don’t rush out to see a movie about a trans teen. The liberals pushing transgender issues can’t wrap their minds around the concept that people don’t want to see a movie about this subject.

How many young trans viewers are there, to rush out and see this?

I know Bruce Jenner might be at the premiere since he can identify with the subject......,.

***to protect the innocence of youth***

Not so! back then the Hays Code was enforced, movies were safe for kids. Some few were for “mature audiences only”.
When Bobby Kennedy was murdered everything changed. Guns, comics, pulp fiction TV “violence”(still safe for children then), Movies all were blamed.
TV shows dumbed down to kiddie shows, pulp fiction removed their lurid covers, movies on TV were butchered to remove every hint of “violence”.
The movie industry said they would police themselves with a joke of a “ratings” system. The Hays Code was DEAD! FILM ‘EM BOYS! Scenes were reshot to add nudity and get a coveted R rating.
Some movies rated R back then now are given a PG rating.

Years ago it was found that the trailers for R rated movies were made to attract the underage crowd. It has NEVER been about protecting kids. It is about getting them into theaters no matter what age.

Most homosexuals were sexually molested as children.

They want to normalize their behavior to achieve better access to YOUR children.

Who cares what the rating is,it will be ignored.

In the old days with a one screen theater kids could be kept out but now, especially with the large multiplexes, they just buy a ticket for another movie and go into the theater that is showing the “R” rated film.

.
