Charlotte Rae has been diagnosed with bone cancer.
Last Monday, I found out I have bone cancer, the actress, who played the beloved Edna Garrett on Different Strokes and The Facts of Life, exclusively reveals to PEOPLE. About seven years ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which is a miracle that they found it because usually its too late. My mother, sister and my uncle died of pancreatic cancer. After six months of chemotherapy, I was cancer-free. I lost my hair, but I had beautiful wigs. Nobody even knew.
So now, at the age of 91, I have to make up my mind. Im not in any pain right now. Im feeling so terrific and so glad to be above ground, she explains. Now I have to figure out whether I want to go have treatment again to opt for life. I love life. Ive had a wonderful one already. I have this decision to make.

Prayers for Miss Rae’s health.
91? That’s a good long run. Extend your record! Keep fighting!
At 91, with or without cancer, I hope she knows the saving grace of Jesus.
Prayers for miss Rae
She could try DMSO, B17 and Artimisinin, mixed and rubbed into the skin over the bad bone area several times a day. It may work, as it has before.
Having cared for my late girlfriend for her last year before she died of cancer, and being with her through chemo and surgery before that, I would say that if I were 91 years old and diagnosed with cancer, I would DEFINITELY decline treatment.
Metastatic cancer in the bones is a painful ending.
Right in her prime. jk It’s sad.
Years ago on the “TV Land Awards”, they did a reunion of the Facts of Life cast. Each of the cast members said a few words, ending with Charlotte Rae. When it was her turn to speak, she talked about what wonderful girls the others were, and ended by enthusiastically saying: “and they’re all straight!!!” This visibly annoyed Meredith Baxter (who had recently come out of the closet), causing her to make a sarcastic remark about the comment a few minutes later.
Best wishes to Ms. Rae.
“Girls! Girls! Girls!”
Lol.
She has seasoned quite beautifully.
Her husband turned gay and left her, so she’s familiar with the subject.
I used to think that Mindy Cohn (who played Natalie) was a lesbian. She is really just a gay rights activist and a self-proclaimed “fag hag”.

Bone cancer is what got my mom ten years after she was healed from another type of cancer.
If she has Multiple Myeloma, it’s bad. My dear father died a terrible death with it 30 years ago. Very painful and your bone start breaking as the tumor destroys the bone marrow.
If I’m diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, I’ll purchase a revolver and go home to play Russian Roulette with the gun completely loaded.
So sad. It is awful to see loved ones suffer.
