Trump to sign order protecting opponents of gay ‘marriage,’ abortion on National Day of Prayer

WASHINGTON, D.C, May 2, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – President Trump will sign an executive order on Thursday protecting the religious liberty of the Little Sisters of the Poor and ordinary Americans who don't subscribe to gender ideology or believe in same-sex "marriage," two "senior administration officials" have confirmed to Politico.

The Nation released a leaked copy of an executive order in February that prompted outrage from the left over its protections for Christians who believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman and who don't want to be forced to fund contraception.

Politico says an "influential conservative who saw the text said it hasn’t been dialed back much" from the leaked text in February and that it contains "very, very strong" language.

This executive order would protect the Little Sisters of the Poor and other religious institutions from being forced to participate in the provision of contraceptives and life-ending drugs and devices.

"All persons and religious organizations that object to complying with the [contraception] mandate for religious or moral reasons" would immediately be exempt from it, according to the text released in February.

The draft of the order mandates that the Department of Health and Human Services "take appropriate actions" to ensure that Americans aren't forced to fund abortion when they purchase health insurance. Everyone must have "the ability to purchase health insurance that does not provide coverage for abortion and does not subsidize plans that do provide such coverage," it says.

It would prevent the IRS from unfairly targeting conservative or Christian institutions for holding a natural view of marriage. It would also protect people who believe, speak, act, or decline to act based on their beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman and "sexual relations are properly reserved for such a marriage."

Also protected would be those who live their beliefs that "male and female and their equivalents refer to an individual’s immutable biological sex as objectively determined by anatomy, physiology, or genetics at or before birth, and that human life begins at conception and merits protection at all stages of life."

This order would guarantee that religious freedom is protected "when providing social services, education, or healthcare; earning a living, seeking a job, or employing others; receiving government grants or contracts; or otherwise participating in the marketplace, the public square, or interfacing with federal, state or local governments."

There have been increasing instances of photographers, bakers, and florists facing discrimination or punishment from the government for refusing to participate in same-sex weddings or ceremonies.

Thursday is the National Day of Prayer.

Although Trump has come through on many of his pro-life campaign promises, protecting religious freedom and the pro-family cause has been less of a priority for his administration so far.

The Trump administration is still defending the contraceptive mandate. He has appointed a number of LGBT advocates to influential positions and extended Obama’s executive order forcing federal contractors to have "transgender-inclusive" nondiscrimination policies as a condition of doing business with the federal government.

Although the rumored executive order won't completely undo the numerous victories social liberals have achieved in the last decade or so, it will be a significant blow to them.

Nice news.

I also hope we hear some good messages from the president on the national day of prayer.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth, from the time Obama used a prayer event , to tell us to get off our high horse because look what happened in the name of Christ during the Crusades.

Let us pray this is real and he signs such an order tomorrow.

Sadly we will probably only have until Monday until a liberal judge somewhere in a blue state illegally puts it on hold. Which will go unchallenged.

I meant to add also, while if seems Trump is not so strongly religious, I hope he will acknowledge the positive values of religious faith in the lives of Americans. I hope he will acknowledge the power of prayer and positive aspects of faith.

That is what I’m concerned with too. It seems the President’s team of lawyers is unfortunately very easy to outfox. If they did due diligence before these Executive Orders were issued, the legality should be close to air tight, instead, it appears any first year law student is able to spot loopholes and swat the Ex.Order down for an indefinite period of time.
Maybe the White House Attorneys will learn from their hard knocks of the last few weeks.

Since the precedent has been set for “withholding funding for sanctuary cities,” that means that States can also refuse to support gay marriage without penalty. I'd like to see a couple of States test this.

Let’s keep in mind that the liberal Judges preventing Trump’s EO from operating are doing it based on their own personal feelings and not any law. Any Judge can do this and that is why it must advance through the courts system and ultimately wind up (hopefully) in the USSC for a final disposition.

No amount of smart atty’s can prevent a Judge from issuing an order to stay an EO. All they can do is appeal.

It is only Rational (Constitutional).

We have to remove all “laws” that promote evil, vile, filthy use of other humans-—like slavery—from our “Just Laws”.

There is no such thing as “evil” Just Laws. Justice is the Queen of Virtue-—and satanic “virtue” and islam “virtue” was NEVER embedded into our Constitution’s Justice system. Only Christian Ethics, the most rational and moral ethic system in the history of mankind, is embedded into our system of Rule of Law (Higher Law/God’s Laws).

As Cicero stated, without “Just Laws” there will be no ability to have a civil society—a “just” society. Nuremberg Trials stated that all evil “law” is “null and void” and as Justice Marshall stated EVERYONE has a DUTY to disobey evil “law”.

Thanks for explaining. Then the Trump Team needs to react more quickly and aggressively to reach a judgement on these matters. Hopefully, these cases don’t drag on for the duration of his first term.

Fingers crossed! And I am sure a judge will immediately block it! But hopefully it will work out in the end.

And an Obama-appointed Fedjudge in East Armpit, CA will strike it down. Trump will bluster and Tweet, and submit to the usurpation.

The Bi-Polar Catholic Traddy Movement (Ann Barnhardt) wrote Trump off as Soros buttboy last week because of the bad stuff in the CR, and failure to put a stake through the heart of the Little Sisters of the Poor persecution.

One of their tricks is to use only the present tense when talking about Trump. This is a man who fornicateS. This is a man who commitS adultery. This is a guy who IS pro-choice.

How long until some random liberal judge enjoins the order without any legal basis?
