Swamp People: 47; Trump: 0

If this is the budget deal we get when Republicans control the House, the Senate and the presidency, there’s no point in ever voting for a Republican again.

Not only is there no funding for a wall, but — thanks to the deft negotiating skills of House Speaker Paul Ryan — the bill actually prohibits money from being spent on a wall.

At a CYA press conference on Tuesday, Trump’s ridiculously chipper budget director, Mick Mulvaney, described the bill’s prohibition on building a wall as a MAJOR win. (At least Mulvaney said it in English, unlike his all-Spanish 2014 townhall.)

Yes. Like Jackie Gleason on the Honeymooners;
“One of these days Alice...”POW!! Straight to the moon!”
**No established scriptwriter in this country would dare put that line in today.

This is insane. First, getting conservative Constitutionalists onto the Supreme Court alone is enough of a good reason for voting Republican for the Senate and President. Even in this bill, however, the Republicans were still better than nothing. If they had simply caved last Sept. the budget would have already been completed through this Sept. At least through Republican delays we did a reversal of some of Obama’s deep military cuts, provided more money for border security in a decade, and gave funding for school choice (and these were all things Trump ran on, regardless of whether Coulter cares about them all).

I wish we had gotten a lot more, but Coulter’s crazy if she doesn’t think a Dem Congress wouldn’t have pushed through something much worse. Even the things they "won" on now would have been in a worse form if they had total control. How about we wait until Trump gets his own first proper yearly budget in Sept. before we start trying to discourage people from voting Republican?

the bill actually prohibits money from being spent on a wall.

I keep hearing this, but the people claiming it never provide proof from the bill itself. I would like to know precisely what they are basing this on. Details and actual wording can matter a lot sometimes. If that's just their loose "interpretation," maybe Trump's interpretation when carrying out the law will be different.

Pointing out that you are a newbie is a personal attack?

Are you a snowflake?

(This post is rhetorical.)

“Yeah, blame the base conservative voter instead of the feckless cowards in the Republican party.”

Yeah, I forgot, we don’t have agency or responsibility on our side, only a perpetual victim complex.

You are DAMN RIGHT I am blaming those that send these people to D.C., because who the hell else is sending them?
Change how you pick a candidate, and you will change who ends up in DC. Sorry if that hit too close to home.

“Shove it, RINO.”

That is seriously all you could mentally come up with? No real retort to what I said, just some butthurt exclamation.

I cannot believe magnitude of defeat for those that voted for Trump— 62 million, shafted. This budget could NOT be worse if hillary had won. If you missed Rush horse whipping Pence yesterday go find it. It was painful to watch. I don’t see how real conservative have not lost all hope for the future.

n00bz that come on to the forum, crying doom at every turn, often strike me as Concern Trolls, and I usually predict short shelf-lives for them.

Complete garbage. The “existing stretch of fence” is temporary chain link fence panels like are used around construction sites. the steal wall that is replacing it is substantial and permanent. There is well over $300M allotted for this in the next 4 months before the 2018 budget kicks in.I know you want everything now, but you are just going to have to settle for heading in the right direction. That is something we have not seen in decades.

People forget that Mulvaney was a Cheap Labor Express stooge Congressman from South Carolina, like almost all South Carolina politicians.

I do not like the personal attack here. I thought that violated to rules. Instead of stereotyping and name calling

Oh, STFU, you layabout wastrel, you unmuzzled dismal-dreaming bladder, you mad mustachioed purple-hued maltworm, you paunchy swag-bellied pigeon-egg! Would the fountain of your mind were clear again, that I might water an ass at it. You are a leathern-jerkin, crystal-button, knot-pated, agatering, puke-stocking, caddis-garter, smooth-tongue, Spanish pouch! You beslubbering malmsey-nosed barnacle!

Most let their accounts go dormant while they went over to “GOPbreifingroom”. Most of the time you can just search for their posts from last year and you can easily tell the ones that were part of the NeverTrump crew.

They now run back over hear, have their fake meltdowns, or stage as Trump fans lamenting voting for him, and hope to make it into something. The problem for them is that Trump’s base knows that the problem is congress, which if full of anti-Trump twerps such as themselves, that is why their dreams of seeing Trump rallies empty, like they predicted a few weeks ago, failed to materialize.

Excellent, on target article. Can Trump recover from this fiasco? Doubtful. Will his support slip away? Likely. Will working class Americans ever trust anyone again for President like we have Trump. Probably not. If he fails due to his own inaction and refusal to be confrontational, we are done.

What are you trying poorly to say?

I am saying you are a churlish fen-sucked devil-mon, a bootless fly-bitten harpy, a droning idle-headed gudgeon. You area mewling flap-mouthed varlot, a fobbing fool-born lout, and your breath stinks with eating toasted cheese. You are so leaky that we must leave thee to thy sinking.
