Far-right candidate Marine Le Pen and centrist Emmanuel Macron clashed over their vision of France's future, the euro and ways of fighting terrorism in an ill-tempered televised debate on Wednesday before Sunday's run-off vote for the presidency.
The two went into the debate with opinion polls showing Macron, 39, with a strong lead of 20 percentage points over the National Front's Le Pen, 48, in what is widely seen as France's most important election in decades.

He was totally triggered by that and she ended up laughing at him.
Absolutely priceless and a MUST WATCH.
Too bad. She was France's last hope.
It was the Euro issue that will sink her. Too many French are terrified they will lose their savings. But they are about to lose their country instead.
Biased Roto-Rooters left out the best line of the night, when she told him “France WILL be led by a woman, either me or by Mrs. Merkel”
Figures that Roto-Rooters would deny her such a great line, those scumbags.
I watched much of it. Given that Le Pen was done 18 points before the debate and the fact that Macron held his own and did not make any big mistakes ... I think Macron will win.
The fact Le Pen is as close as she is in FRANCE however is stunning.
You might as well join the Democrats then.
aftr what we saw in the u.s. election, how can anyone put any faith in polls ?
On the lessons learned list...the one odd aspect about this election was that none of the eleven candidates from the primary period were much of a “Trump”. No one chatted about jobs, the economy, or helping French companies be competitive. It was totally avoided by Le Pen. Had she spoken up with some plan and talked about jobs....she’d have another 10 to 20 percent today.
I still think the better candidate would have been Fillon, who was chatting up laying off 500,000 French civil service workers, and trimming back government services. But his fake pay situation with the wife...destroyed his chances.
I had a problem with how Le Pen kept attacking “big business” throughout the debate. she seemed like the leftist, unfortunately, at many times.
Fillon was more of the Reagan-like conservative. I watched debate just now dubbed in English. Le Pen seemed like the leftist at times attacking “big business” throughout the debate. disappointing.
Oh please. Down 20% in French polls (who conduct real polls, unlike American media "push polls") is called reading the facts.
You’re the one giving up before the battle is fought. You don’t belong here with that crap.
Congratulations.
Get your negativity and loser garbage off my screen.
And your positivity and upbeat disposition is such an encouragement to the place.
