A new Politico report out Friday discusses the wide-open Democratic field for the 2020 presidential race. Reporter Gabriel Debenedetti indicates Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is “in the mix” (emphasis ours):
At least a dozen senators are widely thought to be in the mix — including Vermont’s Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts’ Elizabeth Warren, New Jersey’s Cory Booker, California’s Kamala Harris, Ohio’s Sherrod Brown, Oregon’s Jeff Merkley, New York’s Kirsten Gillibrand, Connecticut’s Chris Murphy, and both Minnesotans, Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken. But the depleted bench of Democratic governors is also stocked with possible White House hopefuls, expanding the list of credible presidential prospects to as many as two dozen.

The Democrats are taking a page out of the “We Select, Not The People” playbook. They’re running a large group to stop Sanders. They don’t want to have to buy him off again. He should run as an independent.

This was all caused by YEARS of oxygen starvation, while the Clintons and then that upstart Obama were breathing up all the air, while the atmosphere was further rarefied by George Soros, committed more to causes than candidates.
But, EVERYBODY knows who Maxine Waters is.
And don't dismiss Disney CEO Robert Iger or maverick (pun intended here!) businessman Mark Cuban, either.
I hope the Democrats will nominate someone who has been a senator. Six of the last seven democrat presidential nominees, who were U.S. senators, lost. The six losers were Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore, Walter Mondale, George McGovern, and Hubert Humphrey. The winner was Barack Obama.
