Same with the one we chose for our offspring. They didn't even have a school counselor. If a kid was having emotional problems, out they went, even if their siblings were also going to that school. If a kid committed a crime or sneaked off to do the nasty with another student while at a hotel on a school field trip or away games, it was hushed up.

Ours knew what hell would await at home; hence we didn't have much trouble. More than once I went to the school and demanded that they discipline our child (reasonably) for misdeeds we knew about. Other families were not so disciplined themselves, and paid the price later on. Nothing stays hidden forever.

We have a non-elite prep school in my town which competes with the local HS for students - but has a multi-state student body of its own, with a significant full-tuition foreign student group. So, my kids know a lot of the kids who go there.

I grew up on Long Island and lived in Metro Boston for 22 years, so I’ve had the chance to observe prep school culture as a non-participant for a long, long time.

That this culture is heavily sexualized and that kids get into situations they can’t handle isn’t news - that hasn’t changed since the 1960s.

So it’s logical that places like this would attract teen-attracted faculty, especially gays.

I do not believe there’s anything unique about St. Paul’s, although I certainly believe the environment there is as described.

We, here in NH, have a Senator who has covered for her hubby's escapades at Phillips Exeter Academy.

Adults taking advantage of hormonal overdosed young people is biblical. I don't think we will see a huge change in that culture, at least in our time...
