The annual National Memorial Day Concert from the lawn of the Capitol- one of the few good things on PBS. A must watch!! Keep the kleenex handy. I was fortunate enough to attend this concert in 1998 and it was a life changing experience.

If Barky was still Preezy, he'd probably have that deserter, Buck Private Bow Bergdahl or transmutant Bradsea Manning sing the National Anthem.
Thanks for letting us know about this.
glad to be of assistance to my fellow Freepers!!
Transmutant-Love it!
My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have served. Hopefully, we have a President now who is worthy of you.
We are visiting DC with our kids and watched them setup today. The Rolling Thunder parade was long and loud. My son loved it. The security is very high at the Mall.
This is always SUCH an excellent Memorial! I’ve seen it a number of years running, now. Really excellent.
*BUMP*
we were there in 1997 and took it all in...we attended the concert and Colin Powell got a two minute standing ovation...did you notice he got just a polite smattering of applause just now??
The music has been lovely. I am shedding some tears tonight.
This has been very moving and our military deserve tremendous tribute.....
( wish they had omitted Colin Powell!)
I agree with you. It seems that idiot shows up every damned year and I am so sick of him AND his politics!!
I also dont appreciate having hard corps liberals at a military recognition event.....but....in the end, it isnt about them, it is about the warriors and heros! (and Colin Powell is neither!)
I agree, he kind of stank it up for me. I used that time fixing me a glass of ice water and getting some more tissues!
Best “God Bless America” ever.

LIBTARDS are still putting it on. SO don’t expect more than you did under DUMBO. I quit watching when they moved away from the Patriotic themed ones. I don’t need to listen to the latest rap, rock or half stoned idiot belt out another off key out of tune song they wrote.
Go back to Cohen and Sousa and other Patriotic music. And remember our Fallen as they should be remembered with Honor and Dignity. More God Bless America and Music that came out in support of our Troops. Lee Greenwood, Trace Adkins, so many did inspiration Patriotic songs like the “Green Beret”.
