The government of Qatar has hired John Ashcroft, the U.S. attorney general during the Sept. 11 attacks, as it seeks to rebut accusations from U.S. President Donald Trump and its Arab neighbors that it supports terrorism.
Qatar will pay the Ashcroft Law Firm $2.5 million for a 90-day period as the country seeks to confirm its efforts to fight global terrorism and comply with financial regulations including U.S. Treasury rules, according to a Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, filing on Friday with the Justice Department.
"The firm's work will include crisis response and management, program and system analysis, media outreach, education and advocacy regarding the client's historical, current and future efforts to combat global terror and its compliance goals and accomplishments," according to a letter by Ashcroft firm partner Michael Sullivan included in the filing.

Irony can be really ironic, sometimes.
Can we just stay focused on Trump’s Russian collusion, please. We need to investigate and get to the bottom of that. Comey’s testimony has raised some serious questions we need answers to. [/sarcasm]
PING
Who was that former attorney . A dhimmycrat ?
He was GWB’s A.G. wasn’t he??? If so, then that explains a lot of it, as the Bushes are Globalists, and New World Order..among other things...
Whenever I look at Comey, I think I’m looking at this guy.
One word: Uniparty.
Ashcroft was a hard ass Republican....kinda surprised at this.
Well if anyone would know about getting a country out from under accusations of terrorism, it’s John Ashcroft. He did a wonderful job for the Saudis post 9/11.
They hired a Lawyer?
The Uniparty strikes again!!! These RINO-Demo scumbags will take money from anyone and do anything against US interests. Republican, Democrat, they are all scum.
Perhaps they can provide Qatar with the sound legal advice necessary to get them in compliance. Clearly Qatar has recognized the benefits of having a super power renting space rather than putting up a blockade.
So I guess Ashcroft wanted to make an example of harassing honest entrepreneurs and successful Americans. And so his corrupt mindset continues with this latest action...
Remember the person that planned 9-11 was from Qatar, and Bush left out 98 pages of the 9-11 Commission report because he didn’t want people to know they supported terror minded people...
Read the 98 pages and you will see...
I’m not to trusting of Saudi either, but we will see what President Trump can do, I would trust the President before I would trust anyone...
What a pig.
Why do they need an American lawyer, or American law firm? Don’t they have lawyers in Qatar??
Serious question. Or why not hire a lawyer from some other country, or a public relations firm???
Is the “prestige”, if you will, of John Ashcroft as “W’s” attorney general, a reason why they hired this particular law firm???
