Despite economic hardship in the country, North Korea appears to have inched closer to securing key technology to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles through a series of successful missile tests, the NIS also said.
Regarding the controversy over a suspected North Korean drone found last week in South Korea, the spy agency said the drone took a total of 551 pictures of the South’s territory, including a Terminal Altitude Area Defense battery located in Seongju, North Gyeongsang Province.
The NIS also revealed that a total of six South Korean nationals are currently detained in North Korea, with most of them arrested for engaging in religious activities or helping North Korean defectors. If Korean-Americans are included, the number of detainees is 10, the NIS told the parliament.

I find it strange that every time I see Kim Jong Un in one of his posed photographs, any military officers present are usually quite elderly men. Nothing wrong with serving at an advanced age if one is able. However, I cannot believe that a country bent on waging the appearances of war all the time doesn’t have officers as young as Kim (33 y/o) or 12 years younger.
Maybe Kim Jong doesn’t trust any of the more abled bodied servicemen, preferring to keep using those who served during his father’s regime. Maybe he finds the very elderly officers easier to manipulate through implied threats.
That’s one of the things that needs to happen quickly. Maybe use a drone to attach a bomb to his plane or something.

You may be right. There are all manner of Contingency Plans, in place, but they don’t all become public knowledge.
