In a move that stunned many members of the media, on Thursday night Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing the Russia probe due to Jeff Sessions recusal and who earlier this week confirmed only he has authority to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, released an unorthodox statement to be skeptical about anonymous allegations following the relentless barrage of news reports emerging from the WaPo and the NYT about the evolving probe into Russias election interference and possible collusion with Trump, all based on anonymous sources.
Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous officials, particularly when they do not identify the country let alone the branch or agency of government with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated. Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations. The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations."
Rosenstein, who many had seen as a Trump foil at the DOJ, did not cite specific reports. The DOJ released Rosensteins statement after 9 p.m., shortly after The Washington Post reported that the special counsel was investigating the business dealings of Jared Kushner, Mr. Trumps son-in-law and adviser. That report was attributed to unnamed American officials.

Rosenstein Says He May Need To Recuse Himself In Russia Probe: ABC
....Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous officials,....
particularly when they are Democrats.
Like we already didn’t know that.

“Of course, the next most logical question becomes who would step in to fill Rosenstein’s shoes? According to ABC, that obligation would fall upon Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand.
Rosenstein, who authored an extensive and publicly-released memorandum recommending Comey’s firing, raised the possibility of his recusal during a recent meeting with Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, the Justice Department’s new third-in-command, according to sources.
In the recent meeting with Brand, Rosenstein told her that if he were to recuse himself, she would have to step in and take over those responsibilities. She was sworn-in little more than a month ago.
That is, until Rachel Brand becomes ‘conflicted’ and also has to be recused.”
Can we ban the words “Stunning” and “Bombshell” for at least 4 years?
Seems Rosie’s steen doesn’t practice what he preaches.
“Can we ban the words Stunning and Bombshell for at least 4 years?”
Also:
“Lockdown”
“long gun”
black gun
“reached out to”.....I particularly despise that one.
Anybody else wanna add to?
I’d like to ban “forever” as in “changed (something) forever” as well. How can anyone know?
cheers,
Jim
The Deep state criminal Rosenstein is clearly getting worried these leaks might imperil the scumbag Mueller.
If Rosenstein is deep state, why was he appointed in the first place? I genuinely don’t know the answer. I don’t know for sure whose side Rosenstein is on, but on the face of it, the evidence certainly points to him being part of the deep state.
They'll just switch to "amazing" and "astounding"!
I don’t trust the DOJ.
Yuge and unprecedented.
The person who has a giant conflict here is Bobby Mueller. As soon as His Comeyness confessed he engineered the appointment of Mueller as special counsel by his selective and untruthful leaking from his alleged memo, Mueller should have resigned. His entire investigation is tainted.
Trying to save his job?
He was yet another bad appointment on Trump’s part.
The entire swamp needs draining!
Trump is constantly misled by demons within, such as Priebus, McMaster and his jihad-friendly assistant/mistress Dina Powell.
Sessions—not Rosenstein—should initiate an investigation into all leaks, focus on the leaks coming for Mueller’s office, and then shut them down and prosecute. His recusal doesn’t preclude that.
How many anti Trump bs stories have been posted on FR just this week and will be posted over the weekend that fall into this category:

We’ve known for a long tme not to trust the Urinallists.
