Before Castile can even finish the sentence, Yanez begins shouting.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Video captured from Yanez’s squad car showed Yanez approaching Castile’s car and Castile’s voice warning the officer, “Sir, I have to tell you, I do have a firearm on me.” Before Castile can even finish the sentence, Yanez begins shouting.

...

It’s a much higher priority to let the officer see your hands, especially if he or she seems on edge.

This cop has no business with a badge.

I remember how shrill and terrified the cop's voice and manner were on the video. My first thought was that he was in the wrong job.

CNN and MSNBC will do their best to incite riots.

.
>> “So if you’re carrying concealed, just STFU.” <<

If you’re carrying it under a permit, chances are that an officer will already be aware of it by the time he leaves his vehicle to approach your car.

Saw the video...the woman calmly (strange that she could be so calm) said "you told him to get his registration, sir" and he replied in a very clear (and forceful) manner "I told him not to move".

Given that I'm inclined to believe the cop's claim there are,IMO,two possibilities:

#1)She was lying

#2)Both of them misunderstood the cop's instructions.

If #1 is correct...discussion ended. If #2 is correct then either the cop didn't word his order properly or they weren't listening carefully enough.

Either way,#2 is very unfortunate and #1 is "you *were* warned, pal".

From what I saw I think I would have voted not guilty.

How? If the officer ran the plates and it was the girlfriends car then how would he know that the passenger had a concealed carry permit? And what about states that allow Constitutional carry?

Actually if you’re carrying concealed you take out the card and hand it to the officer along with your driver’s license and then put both hands on the top of the steering wheel and wait for instructions.”

Yep.

I guess a jury decided otherwise.

How many charges dropped, refused to indict, or actual acquittals have there been with all the BLM prosecutors going after cops?

In these cases, CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield always tries to gin up a riot.

Logically it seems that a guy who was informing a cop that he had a weapon would be cooperating. It sounds like the cop panicked and the victim may have thought the cop was telling him to show him the weapon. Who knows? In any case panicking is never the correct response. Such a person has no business patrolling the streets.

Totally disagree! Carrying, or not, do NOT rummage around the cockpit for your permit, license, etc. as the officer approaches your vehicle. Keep hands on the top of steering wheel, await further instructions.
This incident would have diffused, had the perp not been reaching for something, but kept his hands in sight.
Simple!

That’s assuming that you have a license to carry. In Kansas we have Constitutional Carry but I got my license anyway so I can carry in other states around us. But even if I didn’t have it and I was stopped in Kansas, if I had a gun in the car I think I would inform the officer because I am a registered gun owner. Better I tell him or her than they find it out on their computer. Since I’m a harmless looking little old lady, I doubt whether even the greenest rookie would over react. I certainly wouldn’t shout it at the officer.

Surprised they didn’t describe the cop as a ‘White Hispanic’

“...you take out the card and hand it to the officer along with your driver’s license and then put both hands on the top of the steering...”

You sure you want to be fumbling in your pocket as the officer approaches? Police in my town already know whether the owner of the car they just pulled over is or isn’t a CCW holder.

Stay safe.

Drug addled? First I heard of that.

I can’t believe the support this cop is getting on FR for “shoot first ask later”.

Do you people not understand that YOU could never get away with this?
