Probably. The Shia, Sunnis, Wahhabis, and others don’t like each other. They may be united on the need for jihad against the West, but they will fight each other over control of the caliphate and what is the “right” interpretation of Islam.
Blowing himself up just may hide the evidence.
And thank God that that discord militates against their ultimate power.
If they get TOO rampant, they’ll start going at one another’s throats. It’s the Western world with its Christian ideas that is buffering this situation.
I suspect Iran behind this in one form or another......they’re like a madman after Trumps Tour to Saudi.....which put Saudi once again as the leader in the Muslim World.....
I suspect Iran will further incite as many conflicts and happenings now to get the ME nations fighting each other and drag the US and Russia into war........Iran leaders believe conflict and chaos is key to the return of their spiritual leader the Maudee....so they are happiest when there are conflicts.
There is nt really a dispute over interpretation but rather over the lineage from which must come the rightful caliph. it is likd a fight within Leftism. The question is not principles or really even their application but rather, in Lenin’s question, “Who, Whom?”
The Jihad has gone on for 1400 years and will continue until all living human beings are Moslem or until none are. If the former then it will continue as a sort of civil war as the different identities of Moslems slaughter each other seeking purity of Islam until either there is only one Molsem/human being alive, or until the population depletion of Moslem culture unable to raid and conquer and the technological retrogression leave the world’s remaining population in disconnected pockets.
