Isn’t THAT the truth. They spread it and then check you in to eliminate it. Some patients are able to receive antibiotic treatment at home, self administered. Technology in action. If Steve is in ICU once again this is far too serious for alternative treatment.
Prays going up for Steve Scalise and his family, friends, as well as our USA.
if he’s septic, they have medicines for that...ICU is sometimes simply a precaution....fewer patients, more hands on deck...

Brings to mind how former NY Lt. Governor (and Health Care expert) Betsy McCaughey always emphasizes the importance of being aware of germs on virtually all hospital equipment.
Last time I saw her, she touted a pamphlet detailing how infectious such items as call buttons, remote controls, hand rails, etc. can be; she stressed how vital it is for someone close to a patient insists upon everything be sanitized.
Having had three elderly relatives (both parents and my mother’s sister/my aunt) succumb to embolisms following hip and or leg fractures, I can fully relate to complications.
Hopefully, Steve Scalise’s spirit can help him overcome this setback.

His priest from Louisiana happened to be in DC at the time of the shooting, you recall. It escapes me the name of his church at home, but they were all together praying for his survival, and the family of Steve was so grateful to have their home priest arrive directly at the hospital and by their side to administer the Sacrament.
He must make it through this. The Bride cries for Steve.

Seen this a lot. I do this for a living. Common. I’m sure the doctors figured on it as a possibility from the getgo.
On a doctor visit today (first visit), I was given a questionnaire to fill out after the visit. It asked if the MD, the nurse(s) and techs washed their hands. All of them did.
