Gal Gadot has revealed she filmed Wonder Woman when she was five months' pregnant with her second child. Now that's impressive.
The Israeli actress had completed shooting but was required for extra bits of filming in November last year so headed back to Leavesden Studios in London, at a time when most women that pregnant are usually struggling with morning sickness and general pregnancy grogginess.
With Gadot's baby bump more than obvious, the costume department removed a piece of material from the front of her suit and replaced it with a green cloth that could be edited by special effects in post-production.
Gadot then proceeded to perform fight choreography and running scenes, describing to Entertainment Weekly: "On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman on wide shots I looked very funny, like Wonder Woman pregnant with Kermit the Frog."
Director Patty Jenkins described how amazed she was at Gadot's work ethic, saying: "She's pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others.
"There are so many things we asked her to do: 'Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you're doing it. Now it's raining in the freezing cold and you've lost your voice, go'. Everyday it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it."
But Jenkins added happily how "now, at least, we will be able to tell her [new] daughter Maya that she's in her mum's stomach right then, in the middle of that battle scene".
Wonder Woman has been receiving rave reviews, despite Jenkins previously saying she "wouldn't have cast Gal Gadot".
Wonder Woman is out now, and just claimed the top spot on the box office charts for a second week.
worth seeing?
If she pulled that off being five months pregnant - she IS Wonder Woman!
A woman with superhuman strength and incredible intellect kicking multiple men's asses simultaneously.
Sounds to me like every current TV show or theater movie.
Wow! I didn’t know that she and Laz were in a family way. Congrats to them!
LOL
Serena Williams won the Australian Open while pregnant, but she would rank around 700 among men.
The writer seems a bit clueless about pregnancy.... Five months is not morning sickness time and I’ve never heard of pregnancy groginess. Makes it sound like being pregnant is a disease!
Well, the director believes gestation occurs in the stomach, so ...
we will be able to tell her [new] daughter Maya that she's in her mum's stomach right then
I’ve never been pregnant, but morning sickness in the fifth month? Doesn’t it end after three?
Some women have nausea throughout pregnancy. Some don’t experience it at all. Most are in-between.
It’s a movie...
Mindless entertainment for a few hours..
Yes, it worth seeing if you like that type of stuff...
Very little PC crap included which was refreshing...
Our daughter is pregnant with her first child, and I go out of the way to mention to other children that the baby is in her womb, not her stomach.
There is enough confusion out there as it is, and the left’s redefinition of so many words has taken the glory of G_d out of our everyday lives.
Childbirth is when many women feel they're closest to G_d, and having a baby knit inside you is awe inspiring.
No wonder Gadot is never mentioned on the various Fake News networks.
Hell Yes!
Best of DC comics movies
Plus, Gal Gadot is hot.
She truly is Wonder Woman! :D
It’s a terrific movie. My wife and I really loved it. It will be a strong franchise over the years.
My wife mentioned how beautiful Gal is.
My daughter saw it and enjoyed it. Wife and I went a bit later, Rotten Tomatoes had it at 92% favorable. After the flick was over I said: "Looks like I am part of the 8%."
Chris Pine was the best part of the film, though Gal was beautiful, it did not carry the movie. Robin Wright did a terrible job, worst of her career. On a positive note, it is the best one DC has put out, thought that ain't saying much...
We went & saw it. Very entertaining movie with a great story & amazing action sequences. It’s a fun time.
Patty Jenkins seems to have flunked basic obstetric physiology.
Actually, I had one pregnancy where I threw up after almost every meal in the LAST four months.
Not fun. Doctor did a C-section three weeks early as I was dropping weight. Baby was still 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Now, he’s a big adult.
