Theres no denying the first half of 2017 would have been very different had Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. In her current St. Louis gallery exhibition, artist Bunny Burson remembers the future that very nearly was, creating an artwork using the iridescent confetti that was primed to go off on election night this past November 8, had the country elected its first woman president.
A longtime Clinton devotee, Burson was the executive director of the Presidents Committee on the Arts and the Humanities under President Bill Clintons administration. In the aftermath of the 2016 election, she hopes her art will help motivate women to run for office in 2018.
I was among her supporters at the Javits Center waiting for the symbolic shattering of the glass ceiling and the shard like confetti to fall down on us. We left the Javits Center at 2 in the morning with profound emptiness, Burson told NBC. The unused confetti had to be removed from the air cannons and swept into empty boxes by workers.
I wanted to fill that emptiness with hope by giving voice to my feelings that even in defeat, Hillarys confetti could be used to inspire the next generations of little girls and young women to dream big and to act on their dreams, she added.
Tracking down the unused confetti was no easy task. Burson made calls to Arkansas, Boston, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, and Washington, DC. Though many warned her the confetti she sought had likely wound up in the trash, Bursons quest was ultimately successful.
After about two weeks of searching, she tracked down the confetti in Chicago and was able to acquire several large boxes of it200 pounds, to be exactfor her work.

Losers. What would life be without them?
I’m still thanking God daily.
Better.
It certainly doesn’t take any talent to be an “artist” these days. A fifth grader could have come up with this masterpiece.
A dead body that has sunk to the bottom of the lake will rise again but that doesn’t constitute resurrection.
She rises, puts a little brandy in her coffee, walks in the woods for a few minutes, goes back home, cries hysterically, and then washes down her meds with a Bloody Mary.
Repeat until Secret Service carries her to bed.
Then she rises......
Feeeeeeeeeeeelllinggggggggs.....
whoa
whoa
whoa
feeeelinggggggs......
:^)
They misspelled “lose.”
Oh, wait, I think I know...
“Still I rise...”
Yes, because ordinary bullets won’t do the job. You need the silver ones.
The heck with confetti — They should have been set up to use real shards of glass to celebrate hillary’s big win. :=)
I think it is great! Look at that, every day, feel the PAIN of your loss...bathe in it...dwell in it...let it drive you to madness (oh wait, they are already there)
Living with liberals is difficult...I swing on a daily basis from being completely amused by the hilarity of their mental instability, to being completely alarmed by it!
What happened to the unused fireworks? The word was that the Clintons were going to shoot off fireworks that night but they never did.
“And Still I Fail...”
Democrap ideas are worth about as much as this confetti....
Unused confetti: The dried up tears from a washed up hack. Buh bye Hilldog!
Hell, should have turned it into a multimedia installation with Smokey Robinson and the Miracles doing “Tears of a Clown”, good tune ya can dance to.
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles put it to music long ago.
....Now theyre some sad things known to man
But aint too much sadder than
The tears of a clown when theres no one around, uh
Just like Pagliacci did
I try to keep my surface hid
Smiling in the crowd I try
But in my lonely room I cry
The tears of a clown
When theres no one around, oh yeah, baby
Now if theres a smile on my face
Dont let my glad expression
Give you the wrong impression
Dont let this smile I wear
Make you think that I dont care
Cause really Im sad
Dem response = Hillary’s Graffiti in 2020!
