RICHMOND — Republican gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie wants you to know that Democratic candidate Ralph Northam voted for “the largest tax increase in Virginia history.”
But Gillespie is leaving out a big detail.
The $6 billion 2013 funding package he’s talking about was the signature policy accomplishment of Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell, which McDonnell and GOP leadership called a mechanism for providing much-needed transportation improvements in Virginia.

Our commonwealth has been stolen by the Marxists who suck on the federal tit near DC with the aid of otherwise insignificant small centers of communism in the cities of Richmond, Charlottesville & Roanoke & who elected our carpetbagger governor.
True Virginians are now almost helpless & outnumbered with an impotent GOPe Republican party & far too few patriots like Dave Brat.

I am a native Virginian - born in the Medical College of VA 76 years ago. I lived in Richmond until I was 10 and then in Doswell until I finished the 6th grade.
Forty-three years later, I moved to Manassas; in 2004 following several “local” moves (to Old Town Alexandria and then to Springfield), I moved back to Flori-duh to care for my late mother. I visit my grade-school buddy and his wife in Doswell and a buddy in Manassas several times a year.
So, as you can see, I have some very strong ties to Virginia.
I love VA! Except for the government, of course, since McAwful got elected.
HSAT, I am so very sad to see what has happened there re: local, state and federal voting patterns. I sincerely hope that y’all can reclaim the Great State of Virginia FRom the Evil LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist/Communist America haters who have taken over and are destroying the cradle of FReedom.
The Founding Fathers have got to VERY disappointed!
