NYC Mayor’s Trip To Germany Was Taxpayer Funded So He Could #RESIST Trump
Hot Air ^ | July 11, 2017 | Jazz Shaw

Remember when New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio hopped on a jet and took off to Germany right when the city was in mourning over the assassination of yet another police officer? To say that this was a political misstep is the definition of an understatement, but the fallout of that stunt isn’t quite over yet. Some people are raising the awkward question of precisely who paid for that little public relations disaster. As you could probably have guessed without my telling you, it was the taxpayers of New York City. But fear not, citizens! The New York City Conflict of Interests Board gave the mayor the thumbs up for spending the money because it served a “city interest.”

Criminal. And people voted for his and support him.

A nation without just law, is a nation about to perish.

Agree 100%! The voters of NYC knew full well that de Blasio is a radical and a communist! Whatever they get from the guy they deserve!

Ask De Blasio what he and his entourage spent on this junket. First-class tickets, limo, security detail, hotel rooms, etc. You have to figure at least 10 people on this junket tour, and a minimum of $150,000 spent.

Did they fly commercial or private jet? How did they get hotel rooms when even Trump couldn’t? What 5 star hotel did they all stay in? Questions?

Consider the North Korean threat. Consider the "refugee" crisis in both Europe & America. Consider the President's major efforts to advance American economic interests around the world.

What can we say about the conduct of those American Leftists, who seem to spend every waking day trying to undermine the President's image; undermine his credibility, around the world.

Even a Marxist clod like De Blassio is not too stupid to understand the implications of these antics.

NEW YORK CITY CHARTER
CHAPTER 68
Conflicts of Interest

§2602. Conflicts of Interest Board.

a. There shall be a conflicts of interest board consisting of five members, appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the council. The mayor shall designate a chair.

I am not surprised.

b. Members shall be chosen for their independence, integrity, civic commitment and high ethical standards.

I am surprised.

But you see, THIS foreign trip (paid for by New City’s taxpayers) enhanced DeBlasio’s election nomination chances for 2020 as a democrat with “foreign policy” exposure and experience.

And THAT nomination (if DeBlasio wins) enhances New York City’s chances to get federal money to bail out its pension fund deficits WHEN they come due in the next few years!

Based on the way that the NY Post wrote the story....it had to be a commercial flight, but you can figure for the mayor and his wife....first-class tickets would be $10,000 for a round-trip, and the entourage going coach would be $1,200 each.

On the hotel rooms? If you didn’t make reservations two or three months ago...it would be zero chance of getting a 5-star room during this period, unless you ended up forty miles away (like in Lubeck). But a five-star place would easily run $600 to $1000 a night.

Then you toss in a Limo rental. You have to wonder how this suddenly came up and how he jumped on some wagon to go.

The New York Slimes blamed the police for the violence - literally calling the rioters “peaceful.”

The police should have left Hamburg immediately so that all the “protestors” could express their right to free speech as they saw fit. I remember these same ‘tards burning cars and breaking things in DC in the 1990s whenever the G-8, G-10 whatever met

I read elsewhere that his actual expenses (and those of THREE other NYC employees who accompanied him) were paid by the group that set up the demonstration. I assume this was some Soros-funded lefty group.

However, the eight police officers and their expenses, the security detail that traveled there to check it out before he arrived, and a host of other things were indeed paid for with NYC taxpayer dollars.

New Yorkers should be out in the street with pitchforks right about now. But he’s a lefty Dem, so they won’t be, and they probably consider themselves blessed to have been allowed to give him a good trip.
