Satanic ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ Led to Texas Teen’s Death, Says Father
Breitbart Texas ^ | July 12, 2017 | Bob Price

The father of a San Antonio, Texas, area teenage boy said his son apparently killed himself while participating in the satanic “Blue Whale Challenge” that is spreading on social media.

After playing the game online, the parents of 15-year-old Isaiah Gonzalez found him hanging in his bedroom. His father, Jorge Gonzalez, wants other parents to know about the dangers of this game that is believed to have originated in Russia, Fox News reported.

“It talks about satanic stuff and stuff like that and my son was never into that,” the teen’s father told KSAT ABC12 in San Antonio. He said his son showed no signs of being involved in anything like this. “We had no signs at all. Isaiah was Isaiah.”

Police in San Antonio told the local ABC affiliate this is the first they have heard about this game. The game reportedly involves online predators who target teens using cellphone apps and chat rooms.

It appears Isaiah live streamed his suicide as part of the game. His parents found his cell phone propped up with a shoe to point it at his final act.

During the game, the victims are challenged to do increasingly dangerous acts. They are said to be threatened with acts of violence against their family if they fail to execute their tasks. The final task is reported to be suicide.

There are 50 daily tasks assigned to the victims, the Washington Post reported. Officials blame the game for deaths all over the world. It is played out in Facebook groups and Instagram, the newspaper reported.

Isaiah’s mother, Angela Cantu-Gonzalez posted a tribute video to her son’s memory on Facebook.

I think this is less about how bad the game is than about how vulnerable today’s kids are.

Isn’t here a bit more parental direction and influence required in raising kids today? I sincerely ask as someone who doesn’t have any children.

As one not part of the parenting club and as an outside observer, there just seems to be this totally laize-faire approach to parenting when the kids are in upper and middle school. They then get older and then you get “OMG what happened!” from the parents.

I think many parents are doing a horrendous job. Even without a father babies are lots of fun for mommy to hold, hug, shop for,and push in their fancy baby carriages.

Then these kids turn seven or eight — and it require actual rearing, guidance, and direction. Single mommy can’t come thru. So we get more and more about kids like this.

Why are there so many women who want to have a child so much that there is no father in the family within two years!!! Just as long as the mommy gets her baby.

It is so tiresome to see bereaved parents get on these crusades. It’s always this cause or that; but it’s never - - - us as parents falling down on the job. Not providing enough counselling, monitoring, or directing.

They’re actually more concerned about teaching Bobby how to hit a curve ball or Betty how to do the splits. Try teach them a bit of Scripture, a scintilla of the Bible, instead of virtually living through their achievements.

So enough with the Crusades, Parents. Do your jobs and this won’t happen.

Pops died when I was 14 and my mom did a pretty good job.

Depends on the woman, I would think.

“Isn’t here a bit more parental direction and influence required in raising kids today? “

Peer pressure almost always has more impact on a kid than parental pressure. Kids look to other kids for direction more than parents. Today’s technology has greatly expanded the peer’s access to your child. You had him at dinner, then he went to his room and spent four times as much time chatting or multi-player game playing with peers, and, apparently with child predators. I see five year olds with phones. That phone is an access port that can lead to evil as well as good. Here’s a hint. Kids will always look at evil if given a chance. They are curious and the distance of being on a phone, rather than the creep’s house down the block, makes it seem safe.

I’m the 8th of 9 kids. My Dad was killed by a drunk driver when I was 10. Mom was physically disabled with 6 of her 9 kids still at home to raise. At times it was like Lord of the Flies, but I have three college degrees and have been practicing law for 29 years. In the circumstances, my Mom did the best she could.
