A soldier on a perilous mission to gather crucial intelligence deep behind Islamic State lines during the ferocious battle of Mosul shot dead six enemy fighters.

The fearless special forces hero Mohammed Qasim, dubbed the Lion of Mosul, disguised himself as one of the fanatics and conned them into believing he was one of them.

The Iraqi discovered the location of ISIS positions and key sniper and machine gun teams.

Last night senior Iraqi officers applauded the 25-year-old’s actions.

General Abdul Wahab al-Saadi said: “We are all very proud of what this soldier did. He is a very brave man. He makes us all hold our heads up high.”

His picture.

I’d also be concerned bout his family as well (mother, brother, you name it).

Bad idea to make his name and image public. But... glad he killed some ISIS bastards.

Had he been caught, knowing ISIS, it wouldn’t have been a quick execution. Which make his testicular fortitude even more impressive.

Not only this Iraqi is exceptionally brave, but he must be incredibly smart to accomplish all that without getting discovered with certain be-heading.

There's another brilliant benefit of this:

ISIS will now distrust, probably torture, and possibly kill, EVERY one of these "Converts" that shows up. The young idiots that sympathize with ISIS will soon be very reluctant to join up with them for fear of torture or death. ISIS loses recruits.

He is incredibly brave. It’s great they have a public hero story with which they can show a lack of fear of ISIS/ISIL/Daesh. I hope it also causes ISIS members to become paranoid of each other and newcomers.

May God -— the TRUE God -— give him every path to light and grace in this life and the life to come.

I am confident that the Almighty loves men of courage. What a magnificent recruit he would be for the Lord of Hosts!

Too bad they didn’t go with Mohammad Mohammad or Mohammad Islam, isn’t it?

If caught, he would have been tortured to death in the most horrible way. Unbelievable courage!

An aside: I just read “Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates: The Forgotten War That Changed American History.” The moslems were using the same horrible inhumane torture methods on captured ship crews and passengers in the late 1700s (and probably since the start of mohammadism).

But once he has finished killing off the “wrong kind” of fellow Muslims, will he not turn upon us Infidels, as the Qur’an requires?

When I was reading the first lines I thought wouldn't it be something if he is an SAS plant! then this line

Iraqi special forces Golden Division, trained by the SAS in recent years.

Not a plant but he is a product of SAS.

Decorations and the acclaim of a nation to that young soldier! That took nerves of steel and the courage of a saint. To infiltrate the enemy’s positions in the middle of a battle to gather crucial tactical intel that helped to turn the tide of the battle is the stuff of legends. This is how fledgling nations develop the stories that shape their character.
