U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the Justice Department will issue new directives to increase the federal govenment's use of civil asset forfeiture, a controversial practice that allows law enforcement to seize property from suspected criminals without charging them with a crime.

Speaking at a National District Attorneys Association conference in Minneapolis Monday, Sessions said state and local law enforcement could expect changes from U.S. Attorneys in several areas: increased prosecution of gun crimes, immigration offenses, gang activity, and prescription drug abuse, as well as increased asset seizure by the federal government.

“The Drug Enforcement Administration seized more than $4 billion in cash from people suspected of drug activity over the last decade, but $3.2 billion of those seizures were never connected to any criminal charges.”

I voted for President Trump and I voted for him, not the rest of the gang in Washington.

Trump got Sessions support but Sessions has fell short like he did in Las Vegas last week on the Bunkerville-Bundy Ranch Standoff in 2014.

The legal reasoning to skip around this was the idea of suing property rather than people.

Organized ‘legal’ theft.

This is the kind of stuff that makes decent people anti-cop and anti-government.

Take it all after a conviction if you want, Freeze it during investigation and trial and but before the jury weighs in, The cops and the government has no right to it prior to that...
And if found not guilty, immediately, automatically release it.

Jeff how about starting investigations on all the RAT scandals.

That’s what I want to see. It is past time for some serious investigations of the left.

Dear Elusive Jeff: You have bigger fish to fry. Let this go for now and do something that might actually save our country, for Pete’s sake!

Perhaps Sessions will fail the test and wash out.

At any rate, Trump is riding a rickety vehicle on a bumpy road while trying to fix the vehicle and smooth the road. It is an unenviable task, though if he succeeds the results will be very “enviable.”

He’s got to be the reason why they are still prosecuting Sheriff Joe, too.

Unfortunately that’s not the way it’s been working. They can seize your assets for some made up suspicion, and if you are never charged or found guilty of a crime, lawyers have to be paid to try to get your assets back.

Learning curve? How does any human being over the age of three not instinctively know that asset forfeiture is morally, ethically, politically and Constitutionally wrong?

So that makes it OK?

You either believe in the 5th Amendment or you don’t.

He might not want to get Arkancided.

On the other hand, if big time drug dealers just have to pay a bit larger tax, they might take it in stride.

That reasoning turns it into something that isn’t covered under the 5th Amendment.

but, really, Sessions is looking like what John Bohner would be in the same role.

Agreed.

Sessions never became Attorney General. He still thinks he is in Congress, and must make "friends."

Sessions is John Boehner, without the booze and the weeping. Instead, Sessions gives us the same incompetence and RINO behavior with corn pone speeches and blank stares.

I cheered for Sessions when he was nominated for AG. But the guy is a disaster. He refuses to go after the abject Evil that is the DNC, Obama, Hillary, and the rest of these murderers, criminals, and traitors.

I am not agreeing it’s wise to keep going the way we are... but getting the USSC to take the 5th Amendment as covering this situation would indeed be a sea change.

But for that matter, so was gay marriage. If we can have gay marriage, surely this seems like a much lesser violence to tradition.

Well that’s how it has been. I didn’t say it was wise policy.

Sorry this policy is wrong and certainly not in the spirit of the constitution.

Jeff Sessions should have stayed in the senate, he is and has become a very big disappointment.

I think Jeff needs to go.
