An apparent armed robbery attempt was caught on camera recently at a Starbucks in Fresno, Calif.
The would-be criminals intent, however, was thwarted by a quick-thinking patron who picked up his chair and began beating the man.

Starbucks does not allow firearms in any of its stores, concealed or otherwise. The Oklahoma stores are suffering as a result....red
California - I would expect the customer to be criminally charged and sued within a few days.
2. If you hit a man armed with a knife from behind with a chair make sure that you put him down!
Time for Starbucks to ban chairs.
He was stabbed for his trouble. If you’re not armed with a gun, it’s probably not very smart to attempt to intervene and stop a robbery suspect armed with a knife. The good Samaritan had no idea if the suspect had an accomplice standing nearby, and had no idea if the suspect was able to over power him.
The hero is lucky he didn’t have a knife planted into his chest.
Hurray for the citizen...although Sh**f**ks being robbed of a few dollars taken from gullible customers who toss back their overpriced swill should be a misdemeanor at worst.
Too many great coffee shops in Tulsa to ever go to a Starbucks.
And in other news...
California legislators introduce bill mandating all chairs be bolted down.
Same down here around Tampa. There’s plenty of Cuban owned mom and pop bodegas that serve great stuff at much more reasonable prices and without the pretentious aura Starbucks is known for. Besides, given Starschmocks’ progressive corporate culture you would think they’d want us to BUY LOCALLY.
A lawsuit is always possible because you can pretty much file a suit for anything. But criminally, neither the Fresno PD nor the District Attorney are going to file charges against the customer.
They will go further and say NO sitting devices allowed.
“Too many great coffee shops in Tulsa to ever go to a Starbucks.”
Too many really great coffee places in California to ever go to a Shariabucks!
We started buying coffee in Berzerkeley at Peet’s twenty years ago, when it was actually run by Mr. Peet. Now he’s passed on and Peet’s is a big chain, and their coffee, although light years better than Shariabucks, is suffering from “corporatization.” Some things don’t lend themselves to being “corporatized,” and good coffee is one of them. But at least Peet’s doesn’t use their business to “put forward their owner’s political views.”
If youre not armed with a gun, its probably not very smart to attempt to intervene and stop a robbery suspect armed with a knife.
There were two men filming the incident (cowards sitting in their car watching a cop be attacked). But they had the wittiest sense of humor describing “shorty” taking care of that bad guy - blow by blow.
I predict that SB will no longer have chairs to use as weapons in their stores.
I want to put a sarc tag, but I’m half serious
Thread winner.
The suspect was found bleeding nearby and was arrested.
He understood the old line:
“Some people need a high five. To the face. With a chair.”
