A person with gender confusion is NOT able-bodied or fully qualified. Gender confusion is a treatable mental disorder, attendant with tremendous medical costs and disruption.

Additional medical costs and time lost in disruptions takes away resources needed for combat readiness, and more.

Had a “transgendered” soldier been identified in my unit in the field in Vietnam, I would have hoped the thing be pulled as rapidly as possible for its own, and the sake of all concerned...including its advantage to the enemy.

So correct. There used to be a time that entry to the Armed Forces required a psych evaluation and persons with marked mental illness were declined entry. Now for some reason the obama admin embraced mental illness and decided that National Defense could use a few crazies. I doubt any long term studies have existed to determine the mental status and turmoil within the brain when massive doses of hormones to 'change' a persons gender supposedly has. Keep the medical experiments and mentally ill out of the Armed Forces and back on the drag queen circuit.

The article makes it clear she joined the armed forces after postponing her transition to male appearance. It seems to me that the military makes decisions about accepting enlistments, training and assignments based on physical characteristics of the recruit, especially the sex of the recruit. Therefore, it seems this soldier is guilty of material misrepresentation about her willingness to serve as recruited and assigned. On that basis alone, she should be dishonorably discharged.

Staff Sergeant Ireland, 29, joined the Air Force in 2010 as a woman, according to the Air Force Times. In 2012, he began his transition – a process Ireland had postponed to ensure he could enlist...

So basically she joined our military so that she could get a "free" sex-change operation with our tax dollars.

I'm so glad we have a president that will finally end this nonsense. Personally, I don't really care what a grown adult does willingly with the sex parts on their body. But do it on your own time and on your own dime. Stay out of our military!
