The Awan Bros. and their camel humping bethren were used for more than simple IT spying. They ran the network connecting all the Gov’t computers to the Clinton Foundation. The problem was purging all that info and still retaining the CF system. Congress, Dems, and virtually all political opportunists have no desire to cooperate with the DOJ. They want their money.
We have more enemies to our country inside our beltway in Washington D.C. than the rest of the entire globe. We just elect these terrorists who extort all they can and then blow the place up from the inside out.

I wouldn’t call Imran Awan a “low-level IT guy.” He and his brothers had been employed by the House since 2005 and worked for numerous congressmen/women as the main procurers and IT specialists for House laptops and Blackberries. As a Wickileaks document of Wasserman-Schultz’ emails shows he was trusted with her passwords and was the go-to source for equipment for the House.

This is a typical leftist article. The repulsive idea that DWS would become a “punching bag” for Democrat electoral missteps is not in the same galaxy as the idea that the Awans had pretty much unbridled access to secret and top secret messaging for over a decade. Yet they are placed on the same plane of morality. Moreover, they were paid amounts of money completely out of scale with other, equivalent employees or contractors doing similar work. Including paying the brother fired from McDonalds $165K/year for doing a job he never actually showed up for. And paying the wife of the primary Awan a > $100K salary for, I suppose, keeping up the house, you know.
This is a very, very deep scandal and IMO the general awareness of just how far and wide this goes is at the mud-puddle stage. I do not know how far it will be pursued, but this was clearly a manifestation of just how many people people could get on the “sell out America” train just like Aunt Hillary did while the gettin’ was good because she was sure to be elected.
I do not think many people understand the implied depth of this, most FReepers included. Yes, I understand the precedent that Dems are never prosecuted, especially when it comes to selling or leaking national security secrets. But this is very, very deep and went on for at least a decade.
