Special Counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in Washington to investigate Russia's interference in the 2016 elections, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the matter. That's a sign that his inquiry is growing in intensity and entering a new phase, the report said. Legal experts quoted by the newspaper say the move suggests he believes he will need to subpoena records

Are the citizen members of the grand jury selected from a pool of voters inside the District or from a designated radius within driving distance?

Just the District itself.

Insults instead of solutions. Pretty much par for the course with many here.

“This is a witch hunt gone berserk and it must be stomped in the mud!!”

The best way for Trump to deal with this, in my opinion, is to use his bully pulpit in a way not expected of him - to be calmer and more measured than those who are trying to sink him. I think he would be well-served to have a chat with the American people to say something along the lines of:

‘I am doing my best to fulfill what I've promised you. It's a very dysfunctional environment here in Washington, and this is unfortunate for you and your families. I promise to you here again that I will continue to fight for you for as long as I am honored with the privilege of doing so. We are making progress, and we will succeed. I also want to tell the American people, unequivocally, that my unwavering commitment and allegiance is to the United States of America, the country I love and would give my life for. I have never, and would not ever collude with any foreign power. It's not something I would ever consider, and is against every fiber of who I am as a person and an American citizen.

I ran for this office not because I thought it would enrich me - as it has some others before me, but because I truly believed that we were becoming lost as a nation - and too divided. Let's move forward together and fix the problems that prevent us from being the best that we can be. I also ask, that instead of focusing on the faults in our great nation, that we treasure what is great about it, and work together to make it better - in order to form a more perfect union’.

He needs to diffuse the toxicity, and rise above the pettiness around him.

“And the Grand Jury will (coincidentally) all be comprised of Clinton donors.”

Thus making it identical to the composition of the White House personnel, beginning with the Oval Office. If Trump had at least the self control of a ten-year-old, this would have never come to pass. But he cannot keep his mouth shut nor his eye on the ball, hence the quagmire that will hound his every day in office. Being President is not like being a New York real estate grifter. I wish sincerely that he was a better man, and a better President.

Mueller should be under investigation. He is a first class liar and crook.

I can see that after 2 years and billions of dollars wasted, the only thing Mueller and his trolls will find is that there was no Russian connection. Except we all know he won’t stop at that. It’s just a matter of time before they turn their attention to Trump and his businesses and his personal finances. Will they find some dirt there? Sure. But nothing of any real consequence.

Ken Starr was appointed to investigate the Whitewater land deal, and wound up finding Monica Lewinsky.

You’re giving Trump or Meuller 14 months? What is your reasoning?

They are going to try to indict Manafort on some stupid financial charge.

All prosecutors start by indicting minor figures for minor crimes, and then trying to get them to testify against higher-ups in exchange for leniency.

Mueller can easily get an indictment of Flynn for lying on his security-clearance application and can probably find something to hang on Manafort too. The question then becomes whether either of them flips, and on whom.

I don't mind Trump speaking his mind, but the rest of your comment is on the mark.

“all Mueller has to do is get a couple of anti-Trump liars to take the stand as “witnesses” of some unprovable, false narrative, and BAM, there’s charges of Obstruction of Justice, Perjury, or God only knows what”

The prosecution calls Mr. Richard Rich to the stand...

This entire “scandal” is like watching a slow motion beheading with a dull sword.

...Except we as Trump supporters are NOT going to let the beheading happen!! How dare these leftist @ssholes try to take our votes away and nullify the election of our great POTUS, Donald J Trump!!

Similar analogy to yours and true story (interesting digression): When Elizabeth I had Mary Stewart executed, it wasn’t done by a French swordsman as with Anne Boleyn. Mary leaned over the chopping block and the executioner holding an axe missed slightly on the first chop. So he had to chop a second time, and even then, the head wasn’t completely detached. Finally, the executioner lifted Mary’s severed head by her hair, which was actually a wig. He shouted “God save the Queen!” as her bald head fell out of the wig and rolled across the execution platform.

Gruesome and ghoulish, somehow reminds me of what Kathy Griffith deserves.

I hate to sound so naïve. But I just don’t understand how this can be happening. President Trump is an exceptionally intelligent man. He is not a fool by any standard. It is appalling the actions of Sessions and now McMaster. Surely our Great President won’t let this continue.

“Ken Starr was appointed to investigate the Whitewater land deal, and wound up finding Monica Lewinsky.”

Lewinsky was the smoke screen, the diversion that allowed Starr and the media to drop Clinton’s real crimes down a memory hole.

But the Donald Jr. meeting took place in NYC. If that’s the subject of the GJ, why did they choose DC?
