The movie Detroit describes the riots in the film as an uprising. We are living in a revisionist world. It reminds me of the way the Soviets rewrote history and the people who are doing this have the same mindset as the communists. They're acting as useful idiots.

Just wanted to point out that the author’s last name is Suleyman. There’s the reason for the tone of this article.

They are 160 years too late with their rebellions. Where was this boldness during the plantation era in the ante bellum south? Maybe they new they couldn’t get away with this shit then.
To: Bonemaker
Slave rebellions were ruthlessly punished. Nat Turner's failed rebellion resulted in 120 lynchings of both enslaved and free blacks, and measures forbidding the education of blacks, their free assemblage, and access to firearms. After Reconstruction into the 1930s, black crime, real or alleged, was punished severely, and extra judicially in many cases. This was not purely a Southern phenomenon: lynching occurred in places like Duluth, Minnesota and Wilmington, Delaware. In Northern cities like New York and Chicago, conflicts between blacks and whites turned into riots with far more black than white victims. There were virtual pogroms of blacks in places like Rosewood, Florida and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Many towns throughout the country were "sundown towns", where blacks and sometimes others, such as Hispanics or non-Protestant European immigrants, were not allowed to reside.
Was white supremacy unjust? Yes in many cases. Was it confined to the Southern and Border states? No. Was it preferable to the uncontrolled black street crime and anti-white bias of public and corporate institutions that has been prevalent over the last 50 years? No.

Prepper Ping :(from the article) " Even so, the London riots became known to some as an outpouring of greed, thuggery and mob destruction..."
URBAN RIOTS : Thanks to rochester_veteran, FreedomPoster, kearnyirish2, uncbob, and AppyPappy and others for their informative memories.
All the thread comments are instructive and worthy of review and consideration. Can it,..will it occur again ?
Rochester :" That neighborhood where it started has never recovered! Prior to the riots, it had a thriving commercial district of mainly Jewish business owners and they were targeted, looted and set on fire."
"People fled the city in droves and moved to the suburbs."
Ferguson : " I expect Ferguson will never really recover either."
Newark : "Newark is destined to be a Third World sh!thole built around a transit hub ..."
Philadelphia :"Philadelphia had a riot in the early 60s. Mainly Jewish merchants were being burned out and looted"
Detroit :"The movie Detroit describes the riots in the film as an uprising . We are living in a revisionist world.

Speaking of Dem-led urban corruption there are 8 candidates for Detroit mayor.Four are convicted felons.
No wonder why Detroit is in such bad shape!

Hell, yes. it was better. For everyone.
The slave doesn’t dream of freedom; the slave dreams of becoming a master.
Until American blacks give up their lust for white blood, they are not fit to exercise power.

Then came MLKs murder
Rizzo was now police chief and Mayor Tate had the sense to give him free reign
Big Frank made the announcement
NOBODY is looting or burning this city PERIOD
And nobody did even though nationwide major cities burned

You can’t equate “white supremacy” of yore with a lawful orderly society today.
To: Bonemaker
I agree. It's like comparing Communism with Nazism, two evil systems with differing philosophical bases, but the same results: human oppression under an all powerful state. I have no use for people who blame their problems on a dead system of segregation or a long dead system of slavery. We also tend to forget that whites were enslaved: many English, Irish, and Scots were transported here as indentured servants and often treated as bad or worse than the African slaves, as the latter were regarded as more valuable. Also, let's not forget that whites of Catholic and Jewish background, Hispanics, Asians, especially the Japanese, Mormons, and Jehovah's Witnesses suffered in different degrees from discrimination or persecution.
I hope a peaceful, orderly society can be established in a diverse and huge country.

It’s no different than the Bolsheviks overthrowing the Tsar. The peasants were never free, just had different masters

You are a truth teller. My first ancestor to set foot here was an indentured Ulsterman.
To: dsc
Actually, you are right. They didn’t have mass executions or gulags.
The peasants had no idea what they were asking for. History keeps repeating.

“History keeps repeating.”
Another way of saying that people keep repeating the same mistakes, as soon as they forget the last time.

Except it’s different people 150 years and thousands of miles apart ;)
That’s why our schools have dumbed down history classes.

One saving grace here in NJ was that the state itself ran out of money, and the urban charade fell apart. A few years ago when Newark was setting records for murder rates, they laid of over 160 cops because the state (read: the taxpayers) had run out of money. As those infusions of other peoples’ money stop, the nonsense about urban revival screeches to a halt.
