Julian Assange offers job to fired Google employee who wrote anti-diversity memo

By Helena Horton 8 AUGUST 2017 • 1:15PM

Julian Assange has offered the Google employee who was fired for writing an anti-diversity memo a job at Wikileaks.

Assange, who is currently in the Ecuadorian embassy, tweeted multiple times in support of James Damore, the engineer who wrote the memo which went viral.

He said: "Censorship is for losers. @WikiLeaks is offering a job to fired Google engineer James Damore.

"Women & men deserve respect. That includes not firing them for politely expressing ideas but rather arguing back."

He had previously tweeted: "Identity politics 2.0 wars come to Google. Oh no. But mass spying is fine since its equal opportunity predation."

It was a wonderful memo, very well written, thoughtful, detailed. I hope Hoover Institute or some great University picks him up and offers him a job.

Someone contact Rudy Giuliani. I’m sure a cyber security company could use a good software engineer

He needs a job? I'll vote for him... https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3914586/Googles-Ideological-Echo-Chamber.pdf

From link:

Google’s political bias has equated the freedom from offense with psychological safety, but shaming into silence is the antithesis of psychological safety . ●

This silencing has created an ideological echo chamber where some ideas are too sacred to be honestly discussed. ●

The lack of discussion fosters the most extreme and authoritarian elements of this ideology. ○ Extreme: all disparities in representation are due to oppression ○ Authoritarian: we should discriminate to correct for this oppression ●

Differences in distributions of traits between men and women may in part explain why we don't have 50% representation of women in tech and leadership. ●

Discrimination to reach equal representation is unfair, divisive, and bad for business.

Google turned into its own worst caricature of the “right.”

It is going to suffer a credibility tax.

I actually stopped reading Google news some months ago because it’s all biased networks down the line.

I usually look to see what is being talked about on FR. Distressingly often, Google and other leftist news organs don’t even show more than one side of an issue, and just lie through their teeth while giving the world a keyhole view.

As for that memo? It’s far more pro-diversity than Google is.

So instead of getting harassed and blacklisted by Google’s diversity cops, this guy can go to work at Wikileaks, where he will be harassed and blacklisted by all the surveillance and law-enforcement branches of the US Government.

Not really an attractive offer, Julian.

You gotta love how the media’s officially dubbed it “the anti-diversity memo”. It’s really sort of the opposite but they say it with such certitude.

Maybe a variation on ‘projection’?

One virtue I have seen in the IT world is that its people tend to be brainy, independent thinkers. Only at higher echelons does proneness to one sided P.C. occur.

This may be the seed of a ridicule death by slow punchline to Google. Julian Assange! Not considered a slouch name.
