Randy Gamel-Medler, an Oklahoma gay man, filed a federal equal protection lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma against nine defendants from Blaine County, Oklahoma, including Hitchcock Mayor Rick Edsall, Blaine County Sheriff Tony Almaguer, and Undersheriff David Robertson.
The lawsuit also includes state law claims for assault, battery, destruction of real and personal property, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint details months of police and government inaction in response to racist and homophobic threats and harassment.

Hoax. They always are.
I’ve always maintained that for whatever penalties there would be if the crime were authentic, hoaxers should face DOUBLE the criminal and civil penalties, fines, et al.
The supreme court has already ruled that the police and government have no duty to protect you...
But this is being filed in federal court where biased leftists reign. Trump had better remedy that quickly.
The SAME penalties would suit me just fine. Fifteen years to life in the slammer would shut these hoaxers up quick.
Yes. The LGBTQALDLTRE-whatever community have a long-standing reputation for having a “flair for the dramatic” and being outright drama queens. Is it any wonder show biz has long been infested with them? Since the Matthew Shepard case, tragic, but was actually an argument over drugs that got deadly, NOT “homophobia”, so many apparent gay bashings that turned out to be hoaxes have occurred. Like the boy who dried wolf, what’s gonna happen when a real bonafide case of a gay hatred motivated crime occurs. Oh, yeah it did, the Pulse Niteclub shooting. And guess what, THEY BLAMED IT ON THE GUN! One reason the APA really needs to consider reclassifying homosexuality as a mental disease.
I say double because they’re attempting to frame an innocent individual for the crimes they did. That is utterly heinous. Single simply isn’t enough.
First, it is a dying town of 121 people. Why do they even need a town clerk and how can they afford him?
Second, if they hate him so much why did they hire him and tolerate him at all until he adopted a black child?
Third, sorry to say I can see this happening and would have expected it sooner for him being openly gay.
Fourth, why is it mostly only carried in gay news sources? Seems queer.
I looked up Hitchcock, OK on Google maps and had to pan in far to even see it, it’s off ANY main highway. But this is just the type of town which is likely to roll over for any powerful federal lawsuit, lacking any money for defense, and is an easy weakling target for the queer bullies.
This is a common tactic, like attacking mom-and-pop bakeries who have at most 4 or 5 employees at one location, if that many. Thankfully, they attacked the wrong ones in Oregon (Kleins) and in Colorado (Jack Philips) who have the tenacity to fight back.
Apparently, based on further reading, they hired the guy then he began to try to run the town his way. The town leaders and employees may be related but that is common in small towns. The guy raised such a rukus at the public school in Fort Worthless he was banned from the screwl.
Why did the move to Hitchcock? They used to make good cheese in Watonga but that is about all that recommended the area.
Disagree. Despite the vicious stereotyping of small town America as "hateful" by the lying left, most small southern towns are surprisingly tolerant and hospitable to people, even those who they may disagree with on ideology. They might keep their distance and forbid embedded membership in their most important cultural institutions for purity reasons, but outright aggressive assault is not something I would expect. The story of the woman trying to get into his truck and threatening his "son" was way over-the-top and likely a lie or exaggeration.
You are welcome to your disagreement.
Hoax.
I’ll wait to hear if they catch a suspect in the arson of his home. I’ll be waiting a long time.
And it will be a very long time. Today may be forgotten by then.
For a similar situation in Indiana, Google on something to the effect of “Bean Blossom church vandalism”.
Yep, I’m sure it’s a similar case.
Funny that people who are home can can’t contain a fire, especially after they hear a “window break.”
And towns this small almost never have an official fire department because of the costs involved; they rely on volunteer or county services, which often take decidedly longer to arrive.
I started out being 90% certain that this was a hoax, but after thinking about it further, I’m 99.98% certain that the residents started the fire. The penalty for arson is awefully steep.
