A woman who claims she took part in the toppling of the Confederate statue with a group of protesters in North Carolina has been arrested and is facing several charges. Takiyah Thompson, 22, was taken into custody on Tuesday by Durham County sheriffs deputies shortly after protesters held a news conference at North Carolina Central University where she identified herself as the person who climbed a ladder to the top to tie a rope around the monument before the crowd tore it down on Monday. She can be seen in video showing the moments before the Confederate statue was toppled. During the press conference, Thompson said that her actions were justified because Confederate statues represent white supremacy.
Authorities charged Thompson with disorderly conduct by injury to a statue, damage to real property, participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 and inciting others to riot where there is property damage in excess of $1,500
Careful what you brag about...
Interesting first name...
Fine and jail time.
Taquiyya Thompson?
Odd, I don't see that in the legal code anywhere...............
Well it looks like she’s facing a couple of nasty felony charges. These fools don’t realize how sh!t gets real with felony convictions. It’s more than not being able to legally own firearms or vote (at least for the time being ). It’s a complete game changer and not for the better. Felons cannot work in any government or civil service jobs. They locked themselves out of most union shops, even though many of the thugs who run the unions are convicted felons themselves but that’s beside the point. Not to mention how much more difficult if not impossible it would be to get any jobs that require licensing. And some of those snowflakes are snot nosed college brats majoring in education. GOOD LUCK trying to land a teaching job, or any jobs that require interacting with minors, even if they’re not registered sex offenders. And those who decide to sit on their fat asses collecting crazy bucks and living off the government tit, fat chance moving into any of the better subsidized apartments. Housing authorities are loathe to allowing felons to move in. What a helluva price to pay for being a brainwashed little puppy doing the dirty work for some SoreASS funded non profit.
Upper left portion of the matrix ... ‘way up in the corner.
Can almost see her head ‘swag’.

“Oh no you dident”
Takiyah?
A known liar...
yes indeed without mentioning the obvious plight of “slave wages”
If she got her DNA tested she would find out that she has more white running through her bloodstream than that statue.
She feels she was protesting the legacy of slavery and all that.
Question—. If someone gets injured when toppling a statue, can they sue the locality over their injuries incurred while involved in illegal trespass and destruction of property???
BAD news? Really? Nothing bad is going to happen to Takiyah Thompson. At worst, she'll plea-bargain down to a misdemeanor. Some rich lefty celeb will pay her fine. She'll get a crowdsourced scholarship worth six figures. She'll get to hobnob with the stars for awhile, probably a few talk shows where she speaks of "empowerment" and is touted as an inspiration.
And that statue she knocked down? It'll never be repaired and displayed again.
Anyone who thinks Durham is going to throw the book at Takiyah Thompson is smoking crack. That city is a liberal enclave, voting 79% for Hillary Clinton. They hated those statues but were prevented by NC state law from removing them.
Here’s some background on Loan Tran the organiozer of this event in post 30 by lodi90. Which demonstrates this was well organized and suggests funded
