The Cal Con Con team includes Marcus Ruiz Evans, who was vice president of Yes California that crafted Calexit I. He resigned this spring when the effort petered out, saying that movement’s leader, Louis J. Marinelli, had become a distraction because of his ties to Russia.

Say wha...?

Oh, the fuggin’ arrogance. The other 49 states are ‘moldy and out of step with life in Kalifornia’. That diseased shithole needs a few massive earthquakes, an active volcano, and a zombie viral outbreak. Simultaneously.

I’m all for it. Rest of the country would be conservative.

Let’s make it happen faster.

As HL Mencken once observed the desire to “save” the world is usually actually the desire to rule it. The people pushing it think they will rule it. Incorrect. In these situations it’s always the meanest junkyard dog who takes over. The useful idiots get executed as traitors since they can never be trusted.

Let them declare independence.

Then the US can invade. Don’t worry, these pansies would make the Italian army in WW2 look good. I don’t think a transgendered motorized division riding pink scooters has much of a chance defending the California republic. The only real resistance would come from the Hispanic gangs.

Then occupy and set up military government just like they did after CW1. Kick out all illegals, and deport commie Dems/ and or put them on trial for treason.

I figure then we could drain CA by 10-20 million. Let people in the other states repopulate CA via homesteading/ carpetbagging.

If California were to achieve independence, Mexican ganglords, with the aid of the Mexican Government, would take over the country.

Calexit

Seems that 11 states actually seceded once upon a time but they were forced against their will to stay in the union. Those who fail to learn from history ....

AN ORDINANCE to dissolve the union between the State of South Carolina and other States united with her under the compact entitled "The Constitution of the United States of America."
We, the people of the State of South Carolina, in convention assembled, do declare and ordain, and it is hereby declared and ordained, That the ordinance adopted by us in convention on the twenty-third day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified, and also all acts and parts of acts of the General Assembly of this State ratifying amendments of the said Constitution, are hereby repealed; and that the union now subsisting between South Carolina and other States, under the name of the "United States of America," is hereby dissolved.
Done at Charleston the twentieth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty.

There is a movement afoot to get an initiative on the California ballot to apply for a Convention of the States to write an amendment that would create a commonsense path to secession and dissolution of the Union.

The problem is that under Article V it's the state legislature that has to apply to Congress for such a convention, not the people via initiative. The California legislature could apply for a convention for this subject today if it wished.

Rather than going it alone, CA should just become the Northernmost State of Mexico.

We already have half their Population anyway.

"Louis J. Marinelli, had become a distraction because of his ties to Russia."

"Say wha...?"

The Yes California Independence Campaign came to a holt in April after its leader, Louis Marinelli, said he was abandoning the movement and moving permanently to Russia.

They could have more autonomy right away if they pit their money where their mouths are: forgo federal money and the strings that come with it.

But CA won’t do that.

Talk is cheap.

Minus two Rat senators, a Rat nest of representatives, and 55 EVs that will no longer be a guaranteed bonus for the Rat party, how could that not be a yuge improvement for the country?

And the idiot Conservatives that want a Constitutional Convention for their own reasons think THEY can control it, once it takes off.

In reality, it has been argued by some historians that the present Constitution was illegally adopted, because the Constitutional Convention that drew it up was tasked solely with ONLY revising the Articles of Confederation, not writing a whole new Constitution. They then altered the approval process for any changes, which the Articles of Confederation said had to be unanimous consent by all the states. That change needed to unanimous first, to change the highest condition they were meeting on in the first place. It wasn’t. After making that change, ditching the Articles of Confederation and writing whole new Constitution, they set their work as legal and binding after only nine states approved it.

That history shows, every Constitutional Convention has the possibility that it runs away from its mandate. Best chances are it would again.

It would be a lot easier for them to secede if they allowed the conservative parts of the state to secede from the state of California first. That would leave only the nutty libs who would vote overwhelmingly to secede and whom we would be glad to let secede.
