When the situation in Charlottesville, Va. shifted from tense to violent to fatal during the Rogues' parade of white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other deplorables, photographer Ian Reid says he felt a grave sense of inevitability.
For several months now, Reid, a New York-based freelance photographer, has traveled from city to city chronicling the increasingly violent clashes between the white nationalists protesting the removal of the Confederate Flag and confederate statues from public spaces and the counter-protesters they draw.

Think about this. If you want to put two thousand "counter protesters" on the street for four hours at $15/hour, that costs $120k. At most triple that amount for transportation, full-time paid staff, legal fees, etc. Total is no more than $360k. For that, they got a week's worth of nearly wall-to-wall coverage. You can't get that kind of ad deal anywhere.
It Was Inevitable
Almost as if it was orchestrated.....
The antifa on crystal meth got their Kristallnacht.
Who are the counter-protesters?
I thought protesters are demanding that century old statues be torn down and counter protesters are saying leave the statues alone.
It’s like how we are told that “bathroom bills” are unnecessary and government should be doing more than worrying about men walking in women’s locker rooms but it is liberals pushing the demand that men be permitted in ANY women’s locker room or rest room, with male appendage still intact.
The arguments are always set up so those “holding the line” are “advocates” rather than defenders.
The reporter confirms that the police did little or nothing to keep the groups separated. Reporting is also one-sided. Where are the photos of the antifas, etc. ?
So was the victim Heather Heyer beating on someone’s car or not? Was she hit or crushed between two cars, putting herself in close proximity of the vehicle?
white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other deplorables,
What kind of nationalist, white or green-martian, would champion Confederate memorials. Logic goes tilt here, inherent contradiction detected.
he was there and it seems like he wasn’t there.
He saw only parts, not whole things, like the guy getting whacked in the garage.
another blind man describing an elephant...
You are 100% correct. The “riot/murder” gig was a setup put together and directed by three people, basically. Democrat Governor, Terry McAuliffe, the Democrat Mayor & Democrat Racist Assistant Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia. Stay tuned...these facts will all surface in a relatively short time, the key being the ordered stand down of the “not prepared for riot conditions”, State & Local Police which came from the governor or one of his henchmen.
In one of the pictures, it looked like a woman was sandwiched between the minivan and the white car when the Dodge hit the white car.
She was heavyset. There was a heavyset woman that got sandwiched between the minivan and the white car when the Dodge hit the back of the white car.
I’ve always hated the lie that “diversity makes us stronger”. Diversity simply makes things more interesting. Differences, by themselves, don’t form the basis for unity and strength. Only when those of different backgrounds are willing to come into AGREEMENT (and jettison that which separates) can any type of strength result.
Currently, diversity is the key factor to our ever-dividing, ever-weakening nation
A nation must have enough common goals, beliefs etc. to keep them together. When TV began we had that, Mom and Apple pie, Leave it Beaver, Father knows best etc. It was a unifying factor.
No- now they are trying to Balkanize the USA, and so far doing a pretty good job of stirring up trouble.
Mission Accomplished.
why was there no driver in the van?
I never heard that. There is drone video showing the van driving into and knocking down one or a couple of people. That stopped the van in the intersection which stopped the following white car. After the protesters surrounded and blocked both cars, the stage was set for disaster. The driver of the Dodge could not see the stopped cars.
