Hubs and I are leaving in 25 minutes, getting nervous. To stay as safe as possible going to and from the convention center: not wearing my E Deplorabus Unum tee shirt, wearing a plain black tee onto which I’ll pin my Deplorable Lives Matter pin when I feel safe enough. Wearing socks and running shoes instead of sandals in case I have to run. In my small crossbody purse I’m carrying cash, my debit card, my driver’s license and my health insurance card. Also have a very small military grade flashlight that fits in the palm of my hand, it cost $200, it’s the kind he police use, throws off a ton of light. It will be dark when the rally is over. Wearing sunglasses and a hat, it’s 106 outside. In a two dollar shopping bag: a 11 by 17 American flag, bag of almonds, four bottles of cold water, two of them frozen in case I need to use one as a weapon. Don’t know if we can buy food and drink once we’re inside the venue. Also have a map of the downtown area showing which streets are blocked off.
