Off to SCOTUS we go. Plenty of time before the midterms if they don’t dilley-dalley.

You need ID to get welfare too. Is that discriminatory?

This is so tiring. Judges who are not blind but see all manner of law wherever their hearts desire.

...enacted with the intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters, saying that it violates the Voting Rights Act.

Right. The Texas KKK chapter met in full hoods and under torchlight to plot ways to violate the voting rights of minorities.

The reality is that NO voter ID violates everybody's right to fair and honest elections INCLUDING the rights of black and Hispanic voters. Blacks and Hispanics ought to be outraged at this obnoxious bigotry of low expectations of them. Do they really want to be treated like this?

A federal court does not have authority to invalidate state or federal laws. That must be done by a legislature.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton should follow Judge Moore's example and continue to enforce Texas's law. If someone feels aggrieved that it prevents them from voting, they can sue, and the court can decide that individual case. But the court cannot invalidate a state law.

Note that per the Constitution, Article I, section 1, "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in" Congress. Since all legislative powers granted by the Consitution belong to Congress, no legislative powers belong to the courts. Repealing a statute is a legislative function, not a judicial function.

black & brown folk are not sufficiently intelligent enough to obtain adequate ID.

The funny thing is, that brown people in Mexico have to have photo ID to vote and they manage to get that ID. When they vote their photo ID is matched against a copy in the register’s book. Why Mexico can pull this off and we can’t is a mystery.

U.S. District Judge Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ruled that the law was enacted with the intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters, saying that it violates the Voting Rights Act.

Liberal judges; Always judging the intent of a law instead of the clear wording of a law.

Federal District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos is an Obama appointee.

Which means he is an unqualified idiot.

"Has a discriminatory effect..."

Not getting a sufficient education has a discriminatory effect in the job market.

Sleeping until noon every day has a discriminatory effect of keeping employers from hiring you.

Smoking a joint several times a day has a discriminatory effect of making one a pot head.

Similar voter I.D. has already been vetted and found constitutional by the Supreme Court.

Leftists despise the rule of law, stare decisis and rational sense.

When I went to a health care clinic recently, the front desk person asked for my I.D. I casually asked what would happen if I didn’t have any I.D. She flat out said that I would be denied services.

Now, if “health care is a right,” then how does that fly?

I really hope you’re right. I’m at wits end, as no doubt many of us are.

The right controls the house, senate, the WH, a vast majority of statewide offices... and all we do is lose to progressive liberalism.... Granted, they have Satan on their side but still...

I blame the liberalize 5th Circuit more than anything. Of course, the left is going to file in a liberal federal court district initially. There was no rational argument by the 5th.

"Has the effect" does not prove intention, other than the intention to protect election integrity.

Regarding state voter photo ID laws, patriots are reminded that the states have never amended the Constitution to prohibit themselves from prohibiting otherwise legally qualified voters from voting if the voter cannot present a valid photo ID.

Also, since minimum constitutional voting age is 18 (26th Amendment), that gives underaged citizens plenty of time to pass a one-time voter qualification test, a test which stresses the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, before actually being allowed to vote.

A minimum number of test questions can be based on the following points.

Voters also need correctly answer a question or two to prove that they understand why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Finally, note that since even lawmakers, POTUS, judges and justices would be required to pass this voter qualification test before being allowed to vote that it would be easier to impeach and remove from office elected and non-elected officials who defend legislation and laws, especially tax appropriation laws, based on stolen state powers.
