Blacks: Stop believing 'white privilege' is real
wnd.com ^ | 9/1/2017 | Mason Weaver

Posted on 09/01/2017 7:37:13 AM PDT by rktman

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 1975 with a BS degree in political science. I studied sociology at Merritt College under Melvin Newton, Huey Newton’s older brother. I have studied black history, Swahili, the African slave trade and understand the racial tensions in America. I understand that the current tension is manufactured, fake and designed to destroy America, not to unite us.

Once again, black people are pawns of other groups. We are the cannon fodder to illuminate their causes while we still suffer. There is no nationwide, deep racial problem in America, but there is a well-funded effort to create one.

Everyday Americans of all colors, economic backgrounds, educational levels and faiths all live and work together. It is only on television that we see the racial strife. We then spend our time apologizing over make-believe issues.

I wrote the book “Tribalism” trying to explain why we continue to allow those who hate us to also lead us. Black people are not intimidated by a flag, statue or monument. Most black people are just like most other people. We are thinking about our jobs, children and grandchildren. Let’s make an agreement. I will judge people of all races by the people I see, meet and talk to every day – if you will do the same.

Ruh Roh Mason you in trouble now. And, despite your creds, you gotta know you're kickin' the latest sacred cow of the blm crowd and their ilk. But, you are correct. There are plenty of examples out there where individuals(black and white) have managed to overcome their "circumstance" and become contributing members of society. Thanks for the input.

“If you believe in “white privilege,” then you are weak and non-competitive. I have never met a white person who was superior to me. I have met some more experienced, successful or more talented, but never met a superior white person in my life. Black Lies Matter should compete in the American Dream. You will lose some and win some, but you will be in charge. “

My experience in life as well. You will meet people with more experience than you. More education and knowledge in a certain field. Richer. But that’s not superior. That’s not a privilege. It was hard earned.

I wish I were as privileged as they say I am as a white guy.

I came from a lower middle class working family. I worked hard and made something of myself honestly.

Mr. Weaver is a wise man ... seems like a disciple of Booker T Washington.

Let’s make an agreement. I will judge people of all races by the people I see, meet and talk to every day – if you will do the same.

Brother, you've had that agreement with me for half a century.

Yeah, I always felt nobody was “better” than me. Just different circumstances and results. Don’t begrudge anyone who was more successful. My success, at least in my eyes, was totally up to me and how hard I wanted to achieve something. I think I did okay. Better than some, less than others. Guess that isn’t “equal” in the eyes of the rabble rousers huh?

My white privilege got me in the Army in 1971, and because of that privilege they paid me $134 a month and only had to work 60-70 hours a week. I learned to clean toilets, mop floors, pick up cigarette butts and other assorted details. Without my white privilege , I would have never been able to get into the Army. White privilege has been very very good to me!

All “white privilege” is is just plain old ordinary “American privilege”.

And that privilege is open and freely available to all.

1. Get an education. High school is enough.
2. Get Married. Stay married. Have kids
3. Get a job.

That’s it. You do that, and you will achieve the American Dream. Regardless of race, sex, creed, etc.

LOL! Yeah, my dad was an O-6 Navy Captain and he swore me in as an E-1 in 1967. Didn’t seem to help me much in bootcamp or any of the ships I was assigned to. Bilge cleaning is bilge cleaning. ;-)

The left talks about white privilege because the left has given up on addressing black (and now Hispanic) academic underachievement, as well as other correlates of underclass culture. If one is unwilling to address the real issues, it becomes necessary to invent a scapegoat.

But it’s the work ethic that some mistake for privilege.

Some privilege. You get to work like a dog your whole life and then have others try to take everything from you.

Exactly.

It’s not “white privilege”, it’s “Puritan work ethic”. Behavior begets consequences.

you can call it White Privilege, Puritan Work Ethic, Protestant Work Ethic or North European Work Ethic.

It doesn’t matter what it is called. In America, having a good work ethic is the key to success. regardless of skin color, national origins or religion.

Hillry Clinton is the personification of ‘white privilege’. Remember how she and her hubby treated poor suffering Haitians.

Great post. I believe most of us are of the same mindset. I could’ve done better and I could’ve done worse. It was all up to me and depended on the choices I made. And I respect those who achieved great success due to choices and sacrifices they made.

Believing in “white privilege” means believing white people are superior and need to take better care of their slaves.

This should be emblazoned everywhere.

It's sad and disturbing that such a reasoned analysis of our shared reality is so rarely heard from black voices in America today.

But then again, how many of us, black or white, are truly free in our thinking?

Only the blatant physical form of human slavery was abolished here, but it was replaced by more devious and subtle mental/emotional form of slavery in wide use today.

And, just as before, blacks, women and children are hardest hit.

I’ve cracked the code on the term ‘white privilege’... I know what it means.

It means ‘WHITE REPUTATION’...

For better or worse it means a white person has the benefit of being accepted as an honest person who’s law biding AND NOT IMPULSIVE - - UNTIL HE PROVES OTHERWISE. (which happens often - yes we have a full share of criminals and lowlifes - look at Antifa or the KKK).

A black person must deal with ‘the black citizen REPUTATION’... that he’s not law biding and is more likely to be impulsive UNTIL HE PROVES OTHERWISE.(which happens often - yes, the black community has a full share of nice law biding people).

The solution?

The black community needs to improve their reputation by NOT EXCUSING CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. They have a bad reputation because they’re EARNED a bad reputation. And it’s not fair to the good people in the black community...
