Congress is afraid to legalize it, and the President knows it. The Republicans know most of the DACA are Dem voters, their approval of DACA as is is political suicide.

So what happens when GOP doesn’t approve DACA? He reinstates it?

Yes, he’s playing 5 dimensional underwater reverse backgammon. No one does it quite like him.

The interesting part about this is, Latinos continue to support Democrats who never deliver. When will the Latinos wake up?

Congress won't be able to legalize it fast enough is my prediction. Ryan is for it in the House. There are probably at least 60 votes for it in the Senate. It'll pass.

Trump has won big-time on this. Congress now gets to vote up or down—who do they represent—American citizens or illegal immigrants?

Congress can decide its own fate—as it should be.

Today Trump’s pushing for them to work on tax reform, not DACA. At least that’s what they’re saying on Fox.

I think you hit the nail in the face. It's like "the best way to get rid of a bad law is to enforce it". This isn't even a law so he is daring them to make it a law.

This hasn't stopped Republicans from supporting amnesty packages even worse than DACA before. "Immigration reform" (=amnesty) seems to be one of those issues where the two wings of uniparty put their superficial differences aside and walk hand in hand.

Congress will pass an even more permissive version of DACA within a few months. The only question is whether Trump will stay true to the people who elected him and veto it. Judging by his rhetoric here, the answer seems to be "no."

Looks accurate.

Pretty clever move if it works.
