Steve Bannon ‘To Avoid A Trade War, China Must Cease Its Economic War Against America
Breitbart ^ | 09/12/17 | Rebecca Mansour

In a speech to the CLSA Investors’ Forum in Hong Kong on Tuesday, Breitbart Executive Chairman Steve Bannon stated that to avoid a trade war, China must cease its economic war on America.

In a separate interview on Tuesday with David Martosko of The Daily Mail, Bannon mentioned President Trump’s planned visit to China in November to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and attend economic summits. Bannon said Trump will seek common ground in a new trade relationship with China because “[t]here’s too much at stake to slip into a trade war right off the bat.”

“I think it has to be engagement [between] the United States and China. I think the November meeting with the president is going to really be that, and I think good things will come out of it.”

Bannon predicted Trump would be aggressive in pursuing America’s interests, but would still be able to “reach some sort of accommodation.”

“I think we’ll avoid a trade war simply for the fact that the president has shown that he’s prepared to do whatever it takes to protect American jobs, and to bring back manufacturing jobs,” he said.

Bannon is right on. It’s been said many, many times over the years....but when push comes to shove...nothing happens....and the deficient grows and grows.

Given the current domestic political climate and hatred of him by the Intel spooks and the deep state, not sure a trip to China would be wise for Trump.

Larry McDonald was en-route to that part of the world when the Russians shot down KAL-007. He better take 3 or 4 times the number of TRUSTED security folks with him.

All I’m saying here is that he’s pissed off many of the same folks JFK did and they play for keeps.

He’s partially right.

The US Government also needs to ease its economic war against Americans, EPA, OSHA, Tort Law, Obamacare, are just a few

More...in fact 62,984,825 deplorables dodged the bullet....

...and collectively dodged a nuclear missile.

We sure did. And big CEO I've known has said there is no good "win-lose" negotiation. You MUST be as focused on the other side's WIN as your own and make sure you both come away with a win in any negotiation. I see Trump doing that with China and the Democrats and other areas. Democrats want to destroy everyone (even themselves if that's what it takes), but Trump wants to make everyone better.

Too many Ds (all of them?) and many Rs are more focused on the other side's loses than their/our wins. I hope/think Trump is more focused on American wins than punishing enemies.

The designs and technologies of many Chinese-made products are provided by American-run companies.

To blame the Chinese government for taking advantage of the opportunities offered by American-run firms is improper.

“the president has shown that he’s prepared to do whatever it takes”

Something must be wrong with my TV and Internet service.

It sounds like he’s approaching tariffs and trade from a foreign policy perspective.

They only call it ‘trade war’ when we fight back.
