“It was named after an inappropriate person,”

There you go."Inappropriate" is leftist speak. ANYTHING can bee deemed inappropriate. ALL Totalitarians such as Kings,Dictators,Communists,Socialists,Fascists,Islamists, and American Liberals are always unhappy and strive to make things appropriate. I would say half a billion died and a massive amount of things destroyed throughout world history when the finger was pointed at the inappropriate person, place or thing.

If my elementary school had burned to the ground, we would have been celebrating for weeks.

This was a magnet school where students were more likely to be emotionally invested in their education. But I know what you mean.

If you knew anything about Robert E. Lee, inappropriate is not the word that I would use. You may think it’s inappropriate to name a school for him but that’s a different use of the word and does not disparage the man.

You got to admit, the left has stones.... The right, not so much.. :(

The left is bat-sh*t crazy. Rational people do not burn down buildings or go looking for "Nazis" to assault.

The left are a bunch of irrational children who resort to violence in the manner of a child throwing a temper tantrum. What the left needs is a good butt busting and then to be made to sit in a corner until they've learned to behave.

Older school buildings have a charm and a presence that new ones don’t even try to match.

I attended elementary school in a building built in the early 1900's up until the 1920's. Had a basement, where the cafeteria was located, a massive auditorium with a balcony, and several elevated porches attached to classrooms. It was my home away from home. I often hung out on the school grounds during summer breaks even. A very formative element of my life.

At the start of my second grade year, we even had classes in the basement boiler room because of limited space (baby boomers coming of age.) It was wonderful.

I would have cried if it had burned down.

Let me rephrase that... It seems nothing good ever happens for the right... Nothing we hear about anyway.... I think maybe the media squelches anything that might give heart to the right... Surely good things happen at times but we are just uninformed...

Every month the "American Rifleman" has a section listing all the would be criminals shot by law abiding citizens, and no, this list of "good things" never gets on the regular news feeds.

Glad we're waiting for the evidence before making our conclusions. /s

Perhaps there is some remote possibility that not everybody thinks like you.

Agreed, except for the gym. We were really used to those rims.....

Just to be clear, that was not my comment-it was in the article.

I am a fan of General Lee from childhood.

I’ve witnessed first hand burning houses in salt water flood zones. Looking at that picture, I don’t see a flood.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I really didn’t get that at all from Alberta’s Child’s post. Seemingly, a harmless reflection on her state of mind as a middle school child.... like many other, including myself.

Though, I would immediately have regretted my glee, as homeschooling and a load of chores would have been coming my way ;)

Wife, her brother and two sisters went to Robert E. Lee. What a loss. Some irony, they may relocate to the old Jefferson High School.

Many children have lost everything. Mine would cry if the school was gone as well.
