Hey, people at Wembley, don’t stop there. Get on BOTH knees and practice bowing towards Mecca. That’ll serve you better in your country.

My plan....No more athletic scholarships....ever. Why? Because they amount to racism.

Bingo!

I don't know if it's on his agenda, but I would LOVE to see Trump turn off the government tap to universities and university students. We already know that sports programs DO NOT pay for themselves, much less pay for other parts of the university as they claim. (They did a study at Rutgers showing that a ton of the student general fund was going towards sports.)

Immediately, college tuition would drop like a stone without the feds pumping an unlimited supply of tax dollars in. Students wouldl have to go banks and other agencies that care about what they study to get loans and grants and scholarships. And, without all that government slush, good luck giving hundreds of students free rides to study kinesiology and communications because they're good at sports.

Think how the college system would transform if it had to price competitively, provide a worthwhile service, and worry about allocating funds to the highest priorities.

And what would happen to sports? Private leagues and training facilities would spring up, and kids would have to think really hard about whether they really wanted to focus on sports or studies or trades or whatever. As it should be.

Good thing for Marcus Cooper they did, otherwise he would have been run out of town, fumbled at the goal line whist casually jaunting to the end zone like some 300 pounder wasn’t right behind him.

NFL gets billions in subsidies from U.S. taxpayers

http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/30/news/companies/nfl-taxpayers/index.html

If you’re a U.S. taxpayer then you’re subsidizing the wildly profitable National Football League, regardless of whether you’re a fan.

The NFL is the most profitable pro sports league in the U.S., raking in an estimated $1 billion in profits on $10.5 billion in revenue last season, figures that are sure to increase this year.

Those massive profits are made possible in part by the billions of taxpayer dollars that local governments spend on teams, coupled with tax breaks worth hundreds of millions for the teams, the league, their sponsors and fans...

http://www.ibtimes.com/nfl-nba-mlb-stadium-funding-how-federal-government-loses-billions-subsidizing-sports-2413872

How the federal government is involved in this.

In fact, while the researchers estimated that the government has subsidized $3.2 billion worth of stadium construction since 2000 the real cost is even higher. That’s “because high-income bond holders receive a windfall gain for holding municipal bonds, the resulting loss in total revenue to the federal government is even larger at $3.7 billion,” the study noted...

BOTTOM LINE: President Trump, strip the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds used to subsidize sports stadiums and teams.

It is not the purpose of muni bonds to support private organizations, but so that cities and states can create and maintain infrastructure. To make matters worse, money that *should* have been used for infrastructure is instead diverted to sports teams, leaving these governments and their taxpayers IN DEBT.

This is good. It shows us what side people are on. On one side, the America lovers. On the other, the America haters.
It’s not about Trump.

I quit watching after the Africans became so enthralled with running their little ball and throwing it down and performing their Irish jig. It’s like having to tolerate the antics of a 5 YO throwing some fit.
