I remember reading about parents complaints in Germany during Hitler. They didn’t like the way their children were so disrespectful to them and becoming unruly and sexually promiscuous. And, they got in trouble if they complained about it.

They got more then that. If they were of a mind the little Hitler Youth could denounce their parents and they’d end up in a concentration camp. Years ago I was an associate member of VBoB, Veterans of The Battle of The Bulge. It’s the largest veterans group in America. I remember meeting a German woman who married an American lieutenant in 1945 and came to America. Her husband had passed away but she came to the monthly meetings in remembrance of him. I’ll never forget a story she told me about when the Gestapo came for the 12 year old mentally retarded girl who lived in their building, sometime in 1940. She told me they threw the poor girl down a flight of stairs and broke her nose. The family of this young girl weren’t Jewish but the girl was deemed “Daizhiem uner Leben’’. “Life Unworthy of Life’’. The poor girl was never seen again. The viciousness of the Nazis was unimaginable.
