I read somewhere that more than half the island is on American welfare and food stamps. They’ve been living free for generations.
My family lived there in the 60’s ,,, terrible crime then same as now.. I worked in telecom in the 90’s and had to deal with the PR office ,, out of 300 employees only 2 spoke English and finding anyone motivated enough to actually work a problem was a chore... It’s the most corrupt island in the Caribbean ,, the reason nothing works is because they stole all the money rather than using it for it’s intended purpose.
