September marked the beginning of the Jewish New Year and ends with Yom Kippur, known as the "Ten Days of Awe," a period of introspection. People throughout the world, not just Jews, need to consider: if it weren't for Israel, the world would be a much less safe place.
No one should forget that in June 1981, a surprise Israeli air strike destroyed an Iraqi nuclear power plant. If not for this courageous attack, al-Qaeda could have gained control of a nuclear arsenal in 2014 when it asserted control over the western Iraqi city of Fallujah, as it raised its flag over government buildings and declared an Islamic state in this crucial area. Then, in 2007, it was déjà vu as Israel destroyed the Syrian nuclear plant. As Vice President Dick Cheney previously told American Thinker, after seeing the photographs taken by Israeli intelligence, he pushed for U.S. air strikes to destroy the Syrian reactor, the al-Kibar complex. But the Bush administration refused to act, forcing Israel to go it alone and destroy the reactor.
Consider that ISIS still controls large portions of eastern and central Syria. It seems that without Israel's existence the world will have to deal with not only the nuclear rogue regime of North Korea, but also many countries in the Middle East.
As Nikki Haley, the U.N. ambassador, pointed out, the Iranian regime has twice exceeded the amount of heavy water (a form of water in nuclear reactors) it was allowed to have. Iran has refused to allow international inspectors to check all of its military facilities, and there are hundreds of undeclared sites that have suspicious activity that inspectors haven't looked at. In addition, the Iranians have tested ballistic missiles, continue to support terrorism, and have engaged in smuggling arms.

It is not just the Gulf States, but also the world that relies on Israel's intelligence and sees this small country, the size of New Jersey, as a role model on how to deal with terrorism. In recent years, Israel has provided intelligence that has prevented dozens of major terrorist attacks around the world, saving countless lives. Governments are working closely with Israel to keep their countries and citizens safe.
A bigger mess than it is in today.
Israel will soon be a world super-power.
We’re one ME war away from this happening.
With their nuclear arsenal, Israel is a super power.
Which is why if Iran gets nukes it will figure its best and perhaps only chance to win a battle is to strike first. Same with Israel. Thus, every little squabble is apt to escalate to a nuclear battle very quickly - each side thinking it must launch before the other side does.
RE: With their nuclear arsenal, Israel is a super power.
I have always wondered about this ... Israel has remained mum about its nuclear weapons so we don;t really know what they have or are capable of doing.
What would the world look like without the Jewish State?
Aside from their inventions in military science, I will add one thing that possibly changed the world.
“The Intel 8088 - the first PC CPU from IBM that was designed in Israel, at Intel’s Haifa laboratory.”
To begin with they brought Christianity to the world much to their regret.
There would be no salvation from sin because only a Jewish son of David could satisfy the demands of the law, thereby bridging the great gulf between sinful man and a holy God. One He Who was 100% Man/100% God could so do.
Hopeless!
They will officially become one after the next ME war involving them.
Israel’s the only reason for us to be in the Middle East - they’re worth protecting...
What possessed you to change it?
RE: Title at link: “If It Weren’t for Israel...”
If you search for the above title, it comes out exactly as the title. The title was not changed, I simply added additional captions the site placed.
That's a convoluted way of admitting that you changed the title, but ok.
Iran's nuclear weapons program has probably made it inevitable that Israel will be recognized diplomatically by the Gulf States -- moslems, after all, spend their whole lives locked in a mortal struggle with their blood enemies, other moslems. But it would still be nice if the Saudis would get busy and wipe out the Iranian-sponsored terrorists who destroyed what was left of Yemen. Thanks SeekAndFind.
RE: That’s a convoluted way of admitting that you changed the title, but ok.
If you look at other postings, they DO add things to the title Usually in parenthesis, sometimes with [Barf alert]. So, that’s changing the title too in a technical sense, but I believe that is allowed.
I believe the objective is to preserve the exact phrase of the title so that a search will bring it up and that is what I did.
There is absolutely no Christian theological basis for the existence of the modern State of Israel.
I don’t read anywhere where God is a Christian . . . but your unfamiliarity with Romans 11 is amazing.
You might want to find out what an unconditional covenant is and then revisit God’s dealing with Abraham.
Oh, btw, the Church is not Israel. Priests are not Old Testament Levites no matter how much the church at Rome would like to make us believe so.
I guess the bigger question, based upon your reply to my specific post - is you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world?
