Court Will Review Clinton Emails over Trump Administration Objections

Nearly three years ago, Judicial Watch lawsuits forced the Obama administration to disclose Hillary Clinton’s use of unauthorized electronic devices to conduct government business. Incredibly, we’re still fighting for basic information to this day – and against agencies nominally being run by appointees of President Donald Trump.

But we continue to make progress in our historic Clinton investigations. For example, we announced this week that a federal judge will personally review, in camera, redacted material from emails discussing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s request for use of iPads and iPhones during her tenure at the State Department.

U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly also ordered the State Department to file an affidavit addressing why it should not have to search new Clinton emails. In taking these steps, the court rejected arguments by the Tillerson State Department and its lawyers at the Sessions Justice Department.

The court will review the blacked-out information so as to better ascertain whether the government misconduct exception would require the release of the full emails. Generally speaking, the government misconduct exception prevents government agencies from withholding information that would shed light on government wrongdoing under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The September 21 court order comes in connection with an April 28, 2015, FOIA lawsuit filed after the State Department failed to respond to a March 10, 2015, request ( Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00646)). Judicial Watch is seeking:

In March 2016, we obtained State Department documents in this case showing Cheryl Mills’ (Clinton’s then-chief of staff) efforts with the National Security Agency to address Clinton’s demands for a secure BlackBerry.

In a related case, we released an email showing that National Security Agency personnel had denied Clinton’s requests for a BlackBerry, telling Clinton staff to “shut up and color.”

In June 2017, we submitted new evidence to the court showing that Clinton knowingly used an unsecure BlackBerry device despite being warned by “security hawks” against doing so.

If the Justice Department ever gets the proper leadership on this core corruption issue, you can see that your JW has laid a compelling pathway for a serious criminal investigation.

Hillary Clinton knowingly used an unsecure email system and risky iPads and smartphones to conduct classified and sensitive government business.

And it is frankly outrageous that Secretary Tillerson and Attorney General Sessions allow their agencies to cover up for and defend Hillary Clinton’s scandalous and potentially criminal conduct. JW will keep the battles up in court and will continue to educate Americans about the lack of action by these Trump agencies. I am hopeful we will get a breakthrough, so stay tuned for future updates.

Illegal Immigration Costs U.S. Taxpayers a Stunning $134.9 Billion a Year

Lest you think the debate over immigration policy is an academic exercise, we have recently gotten more details on what it costs you in dollars. Our Corruption Chronicles blog breaks it down.

Illegal immigration costs American taxpayers a mind-boggling $134.9 billion annually, according to a detailed analysis of federal, state and local programs that include education, medical, law enforcement and welfare.

Conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a Washington D.C. nonprofit dedicated to studying immigration issues, the in-depth probe reveals that state and local taxpayers get stuck with an overwhelming chunk—$116 billion—of the burden. State and local expenditures for services provided to illegal aliens total $88.9 billion and federal expenditures $45.8 billion, the analysis found. For those who claim illegal immigrants contribute by paying taxes, government figures show that only $19 billion was recouped by Uncle Sam.

“A continually growing population of illegal aliens, along with the federal government’s ineffective efforts to secure our borders, present significant national security and public safety threats to the United States,” the FAIR report states. “They also have a severely negative impact on the nation’s taxpayers at the local, state, and national levels. Illegal immigration costs Americans billions of dollars each year. Illegal aliens are net consumers of taxpayer-funded services and the limited taxes paid by some segments of the illegal alien population are, in no way, significant enough to offset the growing financial burdens imposed on U.S. taxpayers by massive numbers of uninvited guests.” This defies a myth, long promoted by influential open border groups, that illegal aliens pay their fair share of taxes.

More than 12.5 million illegal immigrants and their estimated 4.2 million citizen children benefit from the U.S. government’s generosity. The biggest expenditure ($17.14 billion) on the federal level is for medical services, which include uncompensated hospital costs, Medicaid births, Medicaid fraud and Medicaid benefits for U.S.-born children (anchor babies) of illegal immigrants. The second-largest federal expenditure is law enforcement and justice ($13.15 billion), which includes incarceration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and an alien assistance program.

The feds spend $8 billion on general government programs and $5.85 billion on welfare, which consists of free school meals, food stamps, a supplemental nutrition program known as Women Infants and Children (WIC) and temporary assistance for needy families. FAIR points out the profound impact that illegal immigration has on programs intended to provide services exclusively to low-income Americans.

For state and local governments education is by far the largest expense, an eye-popping $44.4 billion that goes mostly to K-12 public schools nationwide, though over a billion of it is spent on college tuition assistance. General public services, described as expenses associated with garbage collection, fire departments and other locally funded services total $18.5 billion for illegal aliens, the analysis found. Medical expenses came in third ($12.1 billion) for state and local governments and law enforcement ($10.8 billion) in fourth.

FAIR researchers determined that a large percentage of illegal aliens work in the underground economy and frequently avoid paying income tax, leaving law-abiding, taxpaying Americans to foot the exorbitant tab for public services. The report also breaks down expenditures by state, with the top four spenders providing illegal alien benefits being California ($23 billion), Texas ($10.9 billion), New York ($7.5 billion) and Florida ($6.3 billion).

Over the years, Judicial Watch has reported on a variety of studies and assessments involving the huge cost of supporting illegal immigrants, but this appears to be the most thorough and alarming study in recent memory. The breakdown, by category of state and federal services, offers an incredibly detailed account of a major crisis perpetuated by a famously porous southern border.

As FAIR writes in its report, it’s not just about money, though the cost of supporting illegal immigrants should outrage every legal U.S. resident and American citizen. “A continually growing population of illegal aliens, along with the federal government’s ineffective efforts to secure our borders, present significant national security and public safety threats to the United States,” FAIR writes. Judicial Watch has also extensively covered the dire national security crisis along the Mexican border, including an investigative series documenting how Islamic terrorists have joined forces with Mexican drug cartels to infiltrate—and attack—the United States.

Those who are proud of their sanctuary city lawlessness should be held accountable. We are all paying for it. Follow the money.

Until next week …

Trump was very savvy to have his drones oppose this motion, so it avoids any appearance of (totally appropriate) desire for payback for her trying to sabotage the transfer of power.

[[Illegal Immigration Costs U.S. Taxpayers a Stunning $134.9 Billion a Year]]

Um- several sources did a study on the cost of illegal immigration many years ago now- and even back then they estimated the TRUE cost of illegal immigration at between $400 to $600 BILLION DOLLARS per year- The figure cited above does not take into account all the peripheral suffering and loss that illegal immigration causes to their victims and their families (ie: Emergency surgical costs to victims, doctors bills of victims, loss of income by victims, loss of property by victims, cost of therapy by victims, loss of identity by victims, counsellings of victims, lawyer’s fees of the victims, etc etc etc- I’ll post a rundown in next post

The Costs Of Illegal Immigration

It is estimated that illegal immigrants cost this country somewhere between $400 Billion dollars and $600 Billion Dollars Every Single Year

DARK SIDE of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION YEARLY COSTS
45,008 illegal aliens from countries on the U.S. list of state-sponsors of terror or from countries that protected terrorist organizations and their members were released into the general public between 2001 and 2005 despite the fact that DHS couldn’t confirm their identity. Ultimate costs are unknown. Remember 9/11? ?

The Border Patrol arrested 39,215 “other-than-Mexicans,” along the Southwest border. In 2004, the number jumped to 65,814. DHS admits they only catch an estimated 1/3 of the border crossers. Ultimate collateral damage costs of the ones not caught are unknown. ?

Some sources say that bin Laden purchased several suitcase nukes from the Chechen rebels in 1996. Allegedly several of these weapons have been forward deployed to the US in preparation for al Qaeda’s next attack on American soil. Ultimate costs are unknown. ?

According to two trainers at an anti-terrorism conference, preparations are well underway in Islamic terrorist camps for attacks on American schools that will bring “rivers of blood and staggering body counts.” Ultimate costs are unknown. ?

Illegal aliens are enormously involved identity fraud. Costs are unknown. ?

Illegal aliens are involved in a plethora of other criminal activities including such crimes involving methamphetamine, cocaine, home invasion, auto insurance fraud, life insurance fraud, food stamp fraud, mortgage fraud, auto theft, drug trafficking, prostitution, and counterfeiting documents. Costs are unknown. ?

At the end of 2003, approximately 267,000 illegal aliens were incarcerated in U.S. correctional facilities. $6.8B
Mac Johnson estimates that illegal aliens murder between 1,806 and 2,510 people in the U.S. annually, an average of 2,158 murders. (Representative King states illegal aliens are responsible for 4,380 murders) $8.4 B

According to FBI Estimates on Number of Arrests in 2005 in the United States and applying a straight 5% of population representation, illegal aliens would have committed 704,709 crimes in 2005. Based on an average of $25,000 per crime, the costs would be $17.6 billion. Some estimates have their involvement much higher. $17.6B

Based on a GAO report of 55,322 illegal aliens incarcerated in federal, state, and local facilities during 2003 and extrapolating the average number of offenses out across all 267,000 incarcerated illegal alien criminals results in some 1,288,619 crimes! Based on an average of $25,000 per crime, the costs would be $32.2 billion. Another estimated 240,000 criminal illegal aliens are not incarcerated. $32.2B

Professor David Anderson reports that the net annual burdened costs of crime, in 2006 dollars that would be $1.62 TRILLION. A 5% illegal alien participation would be $81 BILLION. Some studies indicate the participation of illegal aliens is much higher than representation. $81B
80,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes still walk the streets. As previously noted, based on studies, those illegal alien criminal will commit 13 offenses each. Total costs are unknown. ?

An estimated 2,258,550 pounds of cocaine made it through the southern border with an estimated street value conservatively estimated $72.2 BILLION. Resulting costs of the associated crime is unknown. Assume 50% is paid for through crime. $36.1B

There are currently over 400,000 unaccounted for illegal alien criminals with outstanding deportation orders. Those are just the ones apprehended. At least one fourth of these are hard core criminals. Resulting costs are unknown. ?
Researcher Deborah Schurman-Kauflin Ph.D. of the Violent Crimes Institute, reports that the illegal alien population includes 240,000 sex offenders – a “conservative estimate.” Based on studies, they will commit 130,909 sex crimes annually. Using $50,000 as the average total economic impact, resulting costs are: $6.5B

63% of the sexual crimes, 82,473 victims, were committed by previously deported perverts who returned to commit the crime. Using $50,000 as the average total economic impact, this would be $4.1 BILLION - more than the cost of a proper border fence along the southern border. . $4.1B

Operation Predator resulted in 6,085 child predator arrests. Some pedophile statistics report that each pedophile molests average of 148 children. If so, that could be as many as 900,580 victims. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

Gangs Or Us estimates that MS-13 has over 15,000 members and associates in at least 115 different cliques in 33 states, and these numbers are continually increasing. .Resulting costs are unknown. ?

In one report, mostly illegal alien Hispanics were involved in 25% of the fatal traffic accidents, an astounding 5 times as much participation as representation. In those accidents, 75% of the drivers had no auto insurance, nearly all of the vehicles driven by migrants were registered to other drivers, and 93% of the vehicles had false out-of-state tags. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

Illegal aliens are often involved in DWIs at a rate that is 3-6 times greater than their representation in the population. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

At a 5% representation, illegal aliens are responsible for 844 alcohol related fatalities. Data suggests their participation is actually far higher. (Rep.King states that illegal aliens were responsible for 4,745 alcohol related fatalities. If so, that would 5.6 times as many deaths as representation.) Resulting costs are unknown. ?

Based on NHTSA data and a 5% participation rate, illegal are responsible for 309,050 accidents, 2,132 deaths, 139,400 injuries, and a cost of $11.5 billion. Data suggest their involvement is much higher, maybe 3-5 times higher. $11.5B

Half of all children born to Hispanic Americans in 2002 were illegitimate, twice the rate for American whites and 42 percent higher than the overall American rate. Rates are suspected of being even higher for Hispanic illegal aliens. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

There are an estimated 5.1 million ESL students in the USA. If 90% of the ESL students are children of illegal aliens then the education costs for children of illegal aliens is about $34.5 billion per year. $34.5B

Many illegal aliens are carrying horrific third world diseases. In the 40 years prior to 2002, there were only 900 total cases of leprosy in the US. In the following three years there have been 9,000 cases. TB is epidemic in many illegal alien communities and a new Multiple-Drug-Resistant (MDR) TB is spreading. Each person infected with TB will infect 10 others. Treating a single case of MDR TB costs between $250,000 and $1,200,000 per person. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

Between March 2000 and March 2005, only 9 percent of the net increase in jobs for adults went to people born in the US but natives accounted for 61 percent of the net increase in the overall size of the 18- to 64-year-old population. The jobs were taken mostly by illegal aliens, displacing native born Americans. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

The National Academy of Science reported that from 1980 to 1995 there was a 44% of the decline in the real wages of high school dropouts as a result of immigration. This affects Black and Hispanics Americans the greatest and is a great contributor to the high unemployment rate in this segment of the population. Resulting costs are unknown. ?

Harvard Professor George Borjas has reported that illegal aliens displaced American workers at a cost in excess of $133 billion dollars in 2005. $133B

The Wall Street investment firm Bear Stearns states we are losing $35 billion a year in income tax collections from jobs that are now off the books. $35B

National Academy of Sciences study estimated that immigration’s net benefit to the American economy is only $10 billion. This item is included to illustrate one of the very few real economic benefits of tolerating illegal aliens. Most of the other benefits of illegal aliens “doing the work that Americans won’t” at lower wages goes into the pockets of their employers. -$10B

A Rice University study calculated that in 2006 the net annual cost of legal and illegal immigration will add up to $108 billion. Illegal immigration is about half the total. $54B

The population of the USA recently crossed the 300,000,000. At the present growth rate, it will hit 400 million as early as 2029 and about 500 million in 2050. And if things don’t change real fast, maybe even a Billion by 2075. Additional infrastructure costs will be in the TRILLIONS. ?

Immigration will account for 96 percent of the future increase in the school-age population over the next 50 years. Cost to the infrastructure is unknown. ?

A recent report notes that illegals sent and estimated $45 Billion south in 2006, which was up from an estimated $30 Billion in 2004. That money leaving the economy does not produce secondary jobs here.

Using a 2:1 money multiplier, that is $90 billion removed from the American economy. $90B

A Census Bureau study estimates that households headed by illegal aliens used $10 billion more in government services than they paid in taxes in 2002. These figures are only for the federal government; costs at the state and local level are also significant. The study also finds that if illegal aliens were given amnesty, the fiscal deficit at the federal level would grow by nearly $29 billion. $10-29B

Jonathan Weisman of the Washington Post states “The Senates embattled immigration bill would raise government spending by as much as $126 billion over the next decade, $12.6B

While some of the costs summarized above are subsets, e.g. cost of the murders as part of the cost of crime, as you can see the economic costs of tolerating illegal immigration is quite considerable. You are paying for it in terms of higher taxes, insurance premiums, et cetera. Some estimates place the net costs of each illegal alien in the country at $50,000 – $100,000. (FYI: 12,000,000 X $50,000 = $600,000,000,000) When the all the indirect costs are factored in, it is probably even higher. In any case, it is a cost that YOU are paying for.

Even saving ten cents on a head of lettuce, how much lettuce would that buy?

Regardless,

What price do you put on each American who has been molested, raped, killed, or murdered by an illegal alien?

“court rejected arguments by the Tillerson State Department and its lawyers at the Sessions Justice Department.”

WTH? I could see a token effort to avoid a payback charge but this seems to go way beyond that.

Thanks for posting this.

A couple of decades ago a good friend and former CFO for a couple of major corporations, nonprofits and his own corporations, told me in private that California was spending billions of $’s per year with the illegals then.

He said that it was basically impossible to fix a real cost per illegal as so much money was hidden via taxes and donations to nonprofits. The cost of long term legal cases like murder, rape and illegal drugs. Schools from K to the Cal state and Universities were one of the biggest costs.

Those school costs hid/omitted the future retirement costs of the extra teacher/aides/janitors, principals/superintendents hired due to the illegals. Now we would need to factor in the golden healthcare costs for retirees and people still getting a paycheck from a local school board.

He felt that at least 20-30% of the lawyers were dependent on a full paycheck due to involvement with illegals in court and jail. He had no idea how much of our tax $’s then and in the future (now) would got to illegal legal costs.

He said the indirect costs re demands on sewer, water, roads and other infrastructure were incalculable re increased maintenance and quicker replacement costs due to higher rates of use by the illegals from the day they start living in our areas.

There are so many hidden costs that illegals bring to the US- those estimates i posted about were a long time ago and even back then some groups considered the estimates too low- We are likely well over a trillion dollars per year now due to all the hidden costs like some you mentioned- things people don’t think about- overlook- I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s approaching 1.5 trillion-2 trillion per year now- but that is just a guess on my part- nothing to back it up really-

Hidden costs- like having to hire interpreters to deal with mexican only speaking illegal immigrants, increased sewer demands on cities- larger crews needed to maintain public utilities- diseases some of them bring in and via rapes, drug use etc- housing repair costs when some of them leave welfare funded housing units- (several different contractors are needed to repair the damage some illegals do while living there) - increased utility burdens- polution increases and it’s effects on everyone’s health-

on and on and on it goes- illegals are creating a massive massive problem for this country- and people complain and witch about spending a one time fee of $25 billion dollars to build a wall? We’d be saving trillions of dollars over the years if we cut illegal immigration to near zero and deported illegals- (Too expensive to deport? Nope- it would be a bargain- we’d save much more money than the cost of deporting them would cost us-)

Tom Fitton or Jay Sekulow should be this country’s Attorney General. I guess the best current solution given the fact that Sessions ins’t going to leave voluntarily or be fired, is that he becomes physically incapacitated or dies.

Just like it’s usually easy for government employees to hide flying on chartered jets at the taxpayer’s expense.
The problem is that the “only real problem” is getting caught at it.
