The left sees the NFL as a problem. It stands in opposition to what the left wants this country to be and known for. The NFL contains all these things that on college campuses are trying to be weeded out. Masculinity, white privilege, in terms of the ownership, patriotism, rugged individualism, men being men. All of these things that the left is trying to scrub and erase as identifying factors for the United States. And whether the players know it or not, they’re unwittingly helping this along.
Football's death knell was sounded long ago, when their players started suing the league for "concussions". The very existence of safety gear itself encourages Leftists to infiltrate the sport; before safety gear, the weaker (AKA liberals) would have been utterly annihilated.

Go ahead, players. Alienate the customers. Send NFL revenues down into the toilet.
But, guess what? People are keeping track of who had been pushing this, and in February and March 2018, when contracts are up for renewal, the team negotiators are going to have lists of the players who contributed the most to the revenue decline.
And it won’t matter HOW good a player you were, if your off-field antics cost the League money.
