Investigators say several leads brought them to the 200 block of Barton Bend Road, where they executed a search warrant. While detectives were at the address, a vehicle pulled up with stolen property from unreported crimes in Austin that had just taken place.

More than $20,000 in stolen property was recovered from multiple burglaries in Hays and Travis counties. The seven arrested following a two-day search of the property included those believed to be behind the burglaries as well as people on the property who had active arrest warrants.

I’ve always been amused by Climax being just down the road from Horneytown, myself.

No, she was under the age of 18. I had no idea until I asked her what she did. “I go to school”. “Oh” I said, “Are you in college”? “No, I go to high school.”

It was a dance hall where you BYOB. Saturday night about 10 pm.

I said, “What are you doing here?”

“I’m waitin’ fer my boyfriend.”

Me: “Thanks for the dance” and I got as far from her as I could.

I was working in Chattanooga and the guy that was in charge of the installation I was doing took me to a club called “EL’s Fuzzy Duck”. I’m not kidding.

Twenty something years ago I was thinking in the same vein while driving through it. We had just moved to the Hill Country and I tried to rename it Dripping Richards. Got the look from my wife and haven’t tried it again since.

Very smart move,very smart.

That said,I’ve always wanted to visit Tennessee,West Virginia, and Kentucky. They seem like beautiful states.

With our hills hosting over 3,500 weddings a year, even the Texas Legislature
agreed, Dripping Springs is the official, “Wedding Capital of Texas®.”

They look like cedar choppers.

Now, there's a correspondent who has spent some time in Austin. ;-)

At one point in the distant past, while living in Austin, I had some business associates, Austin natives all, who insulted each other by calling one another "cedar chopper." One guy could have been the inspiration for Boomhauer on "King of the Hill." He worked with his mother, who, while she had the requisite experience for the business, nonetheless started her day by polishing off a six-pack of Miller Lite. The Boomhauer guy had several other people from his family working in this business from time to time, and all of them were mentally malformed in one respect or another, to varying degrees. Just from outward appearances as to the rest of this bunch, it was never quite clear that incest was completely off the moral/ethical table, as it were.

One would call another a "cedar choppper," and the other would respond, "I'm a cedar chopper? No, you're a cedar chopper!" All these Bubbaland (South Austin, for the uninitiated) rednecks stumbling somewhat drunkenly about, calling each other "cedar choppers." And this would have been at 10:30 am.

There were times I wanted to point out that all of them, in fact, were cedar choppers, but I didn't think it was in my interest to chase off paying work.
