A mix of emotions filled the air at Port Everglades on Tuesday as hurricane refugees from the eastern Caribbean hugged loved ones, burst into tears of joy and flashed broad smiles after reaching a safe haven from the storm-devastated islands they once called home.

Arriving aboard the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship that dropped anchor were 3,336 evacuees from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands — weary but relieved — many with beloved pets in tow.

Good luck, FL. Houston took in thousands of Katrina victims in 2005. They never left.

More demodummie voters arriving daily?

There is a simple solution to getting them BACK to their homelands, hire construction companies and give all of them jobs on the crews to rebuild their own homes and businesses BACK ON THEIR HOMELAND, (and take the pets back with them.)

Unions would never allow that.

Now they will receive all of the welfare riches and they don’t even have to even look for a job.

Well, that’s one way to change the political demographics. Get ready to issue more EBT cards, free housing, free medical, free, free, free.

So, I support a wife, 4 kids and anyone who doesn’t speak English and who refuses to find a job. Why do I even work?

Houston is not the exemplar.

Miami is.

The Cubans overwhelmed it — you are lucky to find a store, restaurant or gas station where English is spoken (and what little English IS spoken is unintelligible).

Miami is for the most part a 3rd world hellhole.

This should count toward reducing the number of ME refugees we have to take.

Well at least no reporters are asking them why they are leaving instead of trying to rebuild and repair “Their Island” instead of sitting around waiting for somebody else to do it for them.

They are probably going to be re-directed to swing states to help the left break the electoral college.

In 2013, 37% of PR is on food stamps. Bet it was close to double or at least 50% before this hurricane season. I know a person from a check cashing place there who says they’re all corrupt and perhaps as many as 80% getting some sort of welfare. They vote down statehood time and again but for some reason we’re supposed to bail them out and pour money into the island. Why? Nice gig they’ve got going.

A taxi driver on PR once told me laughingly that no one there wanted statehood because they got the milk and didn’t need to buy the cow

“They” are not settling in her district...

Nor are they, the evacuating USA citizens from Puerto Rico, a monolithic voting block.

Sigh...
