At least four brush fires burning in Napa and Sonoma Counties have ignited structures and forced residents to evacuate.

The fire has crossed Highway 101 in Santa Rosa and ignited structures west of the freeway in the area of Kohl’s Department Store on Hopper Avenue. Highway 101 has been shut down at Bicentennial. Residents and businesses should evacuate immediately in the areas of Cross Creek Road, Sky Farm Drive, Saint Andrews Drive, all residences north Fountaingrove Parkway and Montecito Heights. The fire is believed to have begun late Sunday night near Highway 128 in Napa County and progressed towards Santa Rosa city limits.

I have a good friend who lives in the city of Napa. So far, they’re safe... but, very worried about the Atlas fire.
We have visited them a few times in the past few years. (They’re our new BEST friends! :-) ) We’ve visited MANY wineries in those areas. I hate to think what they might look like now.
My bet is terror related.
Some earlier reports stated that some these fires started at approx the same time. That tells me one person setting incendiary devices with timers, or multiple people doing this.

A large fire has just erupted in the Orange County-Riverside corridor, along the 91 at the 241. This is right next to where the Corona fire was last week.
There is a huge plume of smoke in that direction. I hear that homes near the Weir Canyon- Serrano intersection are being evacuated.

How did 12 fires all break out around the same time on Sunday night? There are news stories all over the place about the fires, but nothing about what caused them.
Santa Rosa has been hit like Dresden in WWII.
Napa has problems and will have more as the wind increases today and tonight.
