I lost a liberal best friend over the Anasazi.
She saw them as sage, mystical, enlightened nobles.
And then I sent her the video about them ‘disappearing’, not because they had somehow “ascended” but because they all killed and ate each other during a prolonged famine.
Truth is a bitch.
Most of the people I know brag on being “part Indian”, even if it’s like 1/64th.
I am singular in that I have utterly no Indians in the woodpile.
Total Celt, back to the beginning of time.
There was once a time when I made a living creating “dream catchers” for wannabe Indians.
At first, I made them historically correct, but they wanted pink and purple feathers and jakey beads.
And none of them knew what “dream catchers” really were.
Rather than some floofy, happy spiritual “night light”, they were originally rather “dark” contraptions, functioning as “soul catchers” designed to keep you from getting lost during your ‘astral travels’ and to prevent demons from stealing your soul.
Oh well.
It was money.
I live in Indian Springs.
My house was here during the French & Indian wars.
Whomever lived here at that time did not make to the frontier fort, , 2 miles away, that served as a refuge against the numerous Indian massacres, along with 93 others during a particularly vicious slaughter.
Digging post holes one day, we found part of log structure that had been burned, about 15 feet from my house.

While repairing one of the window frames, back in 1990, we discovered there was a “false wall” on the west side, with a large space between the actual structural logs and the hair & mud wall inside, where presumably one could try to hide.
Sometimes, all of that really creeps me out.

The colonists were industrial age sinners.
God used the industrial sinners, with mixed motives, to carry the gospel of His only Son, our Lord and our God, to the ends of the earth, saving and making desciples of whom He chose from all nations.
“Became less so over time.” Ever hear of Adolf Hitler, or Joe Stalin. How many millions died in Native American concentrations camps or were murdered by the Native American version of the Gestapo or NKVD. We have wiped out entire cites of 100,000 people with one bomb. We now have enough of these, to wipe out the majority of the human species. When it comes to savagery, the Native Americans were amateurs compared the Europeans.
Yeah, I mentioned Hitler in post #80. Same goes for Stalin.
